Welcome to Getting Results with Microsoft Office 97the electronic version. The design of this Web site has been optimized for browsers that read frames, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0. This Web site is also optimized for viewing with cascading style sheets turned on. To turn on style sheets in Internet Explorer 3.0, or to see if they are turned on, click Options (View menu). Click the Advanced tab, and then make sure the Use Style Sheets check box is selected.

How to Move through This Book

Each of the 19 parts of this book contains a number of related topics. Most topics have more than one page.

At the top of the screen are buttons that will take you to the next page, the previous page, the next topic, and the previous topic. At the bottom of the screen are the text versions of these buttons.

To return to the Table of Contents page, click Contents. To explore the table of contents, click a topic name to jump to that topic. Click a part number to jump to a list of the topics in that part.

How to Move within a Topic

Click Topic at a Glance to see a page-by-page outline of the topic. Jump to a page by clicking its title.

Click Contents at any time to return to the table of contents.

How to Keep Track of Where You’ve Been

When you click the Contents button in the Getting Results title frame, the Table of Contents page is automatically refreshed, and all the topic titles are displayed in the normal color for “unvisited” hyperlinks. If you want the titles of topics you’ve looked at to appear in a different color than those you haven’t yet seen, use the following procedure: In Internet Explorer 3.0, click Options (View menu). On the Advanced tab, click Settings, and then click Never.
