In a long list of data, its inconvenient to have to scroll to see the subtotals. When you add subtotals, your worksheet is outlined for you automatically. Outlining lets you choose the level of detail to view, so you can show exactly the information you need.

Use a PivotTable instead of outlining   For more information, see Create a Sales Summary. Hide columns that you dont want to see   Select a column to hide, and then click Hide (Format menu, Column submenu). |
