                        SOFTWARE DISK CONTENTS
                    ******************************

The WACOM software diskette contains several files in the root directory.
There are directories containing installation files, a test utility and
software drivers for specified hardware platforms and operating systems.
These directories contain text file(s) that have information on installing
and using these programs.

                    ******************************
                    WINTAB COMPATIBLE APPLICATIONS
                    ******************************

When changes that affect the tablet scaling are made to the WACOM Control
Panel those changes are saved to the default tablet context. These default
settings are used for the desktop and for all applications that are not
Wintab compatible.

When a Wintab compatible application is launched a new tablet context is
created. This context maintains unique tablet data for the application.

Most graphics applications use the default context settings. If a Wintab
compatible application is already open, any scaling changes that are made in
the WACOM Control Panel will not take effect until the next time the
application is launched.

Most CAD applications (like AutoCAD and Microstation) create a custom tablet
context. Settings in the WACOM control panel that affect tablet scaling like
portion of tablet, one-to-one aspect, or relative positioning will not
function while this application is in the foreground. When switching to the
desktop the default context settings will be in effect.

                    ******************************
                       ERASER-AWARE APPLICATIONS
                    ******************************

Under Windows 95 the ArtPad II and ArtZ II have built-in eraser support for
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Word Perfect and anywhere a standard edit
text box is used such as in Notepad. To activate this support, select
Context Aware in the Eraser Setting dialog box of the WACOM Control Panel.

The following graphic applications are eraser-aware and have built-in support
for the Erasing UltraPen:

  Adobe Photoshop 3.0.4
Win 3.1 - Built in support for the eraser under Windows 3.1 will happen
in a future release of Adobe Photoshop.
Win 95 - Eraser support under Windows 95 requires the PRESSURE.8BX
plug-in located in the ADOBE subdirectory. When the eraser end of
UltraPen is placed on the tablet, Adobe Photoshop will automatically
    switch to the eraser tool.
Win NT - Support for the Erasing UltraPen is built-in under Windows NT.
When the eraser end of UltraPen is placed on the tablet, Adobe Photoshop
will automatically switch to the eraser tool. Do NOT use the plug-in.

  Adobe Photoshop 3.0.5

UltraPen is placed on the tablet, Adobe Photoshop will automatically
switch to the eraser tool. Do NOT use the Plug-in.

  CorelPhoto Paint 6.0 Rev B
Support for the Erasing UltraPen is built-in. When the eraser end of the
UltraPen is placed on the tablet, Photo Paint will allow you to erase the
    last stroke.

  Fractal Design Painter 4.0
Support for the Erasing UltraPen is built-in. When the eraser end of the
UltraPen is placed on the tablet, Painter will automatically switch to
    the eraser tool.

UltraPen is placed on the tablet, Dabbler will automatically switch to
    the eraser tool.
Note: Sometimes, when switching quickly between the pen tip and the
eraser, the tool will not change. This is more noticable on slower
systems and when there is a lot of disk access going on.
Note: Dabbler is currently not Windows NT compatible.

  FutureWave SmartSketch 1.0R2 & 95
