Whether we like it or not, software such as WhatCPU
will always seem to be in beta test. It is impossible
to make it "aware" of all the bugs, anomalies, undocumented
features, glitches, and mysteries of the various CPUs and
chipsets being put on motherboards. The motherboards
themselves are often a mystery. Furthermore, CPUs are
anything BUT an "open architecture".

We have worked diligently to make WhatCPU the best all
around cache and CPU detector in the market. If you use
it, you will be beta testing it because it is impossible
for us to test it on everything. In advance, we thank you,
especially since we anticipate you will be a good industrial
citizen and report sensibly to us anything you find wrong
with the program.

This is NOT a shareware or freeware product, and it is fully
supported as a commercial product. We are incorporating its
features into our PC Clinic Remote System test software, the
first in the world to test PCs over phone or network.

Technical support to you for WhatCPU is absolutely free.
All you have to do is call, fax, or email us. We love email
because it is easy to answer on our schedule. If you call,
you can be assured that we will help you the best we can, and
then we will hand you over to our sales staff because we expect
you to buy something. Most callers do because the products are
worth all we charge for them plus much more.

A caveat about WhatCPU is in order here:

DO NOT TRY TO RELY ON SPEED, MEMORY, or CACHE TESTS UNDER WINDOWS.
We have improved these tests to make them more reliable, but
there is no guarantee. Anyone wanting to offer suggestions as
to how to make the tests bullet-proof under Windows is welcome to
email or call us (and we will be grateful).

If the software has a glitch, report it immediately so we can fix
it. If there is something you don't understand, write it down and
send it to us so we can explain it in the help (PLEASE READ ALL
HELP TOPICS AND MAKE COMMENTS FOR IMPROVEMENT).

The speed testing is difficult for us to do. If the speed is
reported wrongly, make sure windows is not running anywhere in
the system (reboot to DOS prompt) and run it again.

If the speed is still incorrect, call or send us some email and
we will correct it.

If you have any suggestions at all, get them to us immediately.
If we can implement them, we will, but we do not guarantee it.

One final comment: don't be squeamish about sending us kudos if
you think we did a good job. Our engineering staff and webmaster
work gruelling hours to produce WhatCPU, notify you it is there,
and answer the big volume of email we receive from you.

While you might complain about the time filling in a form, consider
that no one is paying us for developing this software and
giving it to you free. We appreciate the chance to serve you.
If you like what we did, please say so.

Thank you sincerely,

Robert Hurt, President, rmhurt@datadepo.com
