Soft Engine Windows Version History.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.P3 02/04/97

New Features:
New product added, Soft Engine for LT.

Misc Changes:
    InstallShield updated to version 3.11.

    HINSTALL.EXE and HASP.386 updated to version 3.03e.

Bugs Fixed:
Under R12 or LT, and using Win32s v 1.30c, the SEHELP command did not
work. Win32s v1.25a allowed SEHELP to work correctly. This is a bug
in the win32s v1.30c subsystem when winhelp was attempted duing a thunk
from 16 bit (r12) to 32 bit (Soft Engine). Fixed by invoking winhelp
directly from our 16 bit .DLL. Note that SECFG still has this problem
since it cannot use the 16 bit fix.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.P2 01/15/97 (Japaneese build)
New Features:
Added new VIBRANTW.INI tag, FastDrag. By default ON, a developer may
want to turn it off to test their product interaction when AutoCAD
is forced to handle drag lists. Turning this option off prevents
Soft Engine from handling the fast drag packets.

Misc Changes:
Rainbow Sentinal driver updated to v5.17. Includes new SENTINAL.WRI file
for help on using the Sentinal system driver.

Hasp HINSTALL.EXE updated to version 3.01

Bugs Fixed:
    ** NONE **

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.P1 12/03/96 (Web Release)
** no change from B3 **

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.B3 12/03/96

New Features:
Added to SECFG Utilities page is a selection to enable/disable
    the SEKEY feature.

Added to SECFG Buttons page is a selection to enable/disable
    Soft Engine buttons.

Misc Changes:
Button numbers in VIBRANTW.INI may be -1 to represent a button that
    is not defined.

Bugs Fixed:
On NT4, using SEIMPORT would crash after selecting any of the check
boxes. Worked fine on NT 3.51, Win95, and WIn32s. Fixed.

Button defination changes in SECFG were not saved to VIBRANT.INI if
the only change was to disable the button. Fixed.

When the SEKEY recorder dialog was displayed and you clicked on it's
title to select it, keystrokes would not be added to the edit window.
    Fixed.

The SEKEY recorder window would sometimes consume Windows resources.
    Fixed.

Pressing the Clear button on the SEKEY recorder window would not return
keyboard control back to the edit window. Fixed.

The PZ keyboard command would send a pick to AutoCAD at it's
    completion. Fixed.

The clock 12/24 hour selections in SECFG were reversed. Fixed.

When using SEICON=R,filename.txt you could receive an error message
indicating that the specified built-in was not valid, however, the file
would compile correctly. The warning is no longer displayed on correct
    files.

The SECFG.VIB file would be incorrectly named SECFGVIB when the acad.ini
file was not in the default location. This would happen if you started
ACAD with the /C or -C options, used the ACADCFGW environment variable,
or used the VIBWIN environment variable. For example, Autodesk
Mechanical Desktop uses the /C option to start ACAD. This bug prevented
the toolbar, toolstrip, and icon system from working. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.B2 11/27/96

New Features:
When the cursor is in the Bird's Eye view and you are using Auto user
interface mode, CTRL and ALT will zoom in/out the viewport.

Bugs Fixed:
Setting a button command to either shift would only work with the left
    shift. Fixed.

Any button using shifts would not work under Win 3.1 or Win95. Due to
limitation in Win 3.1 and Win95, you may only select either shift for
button modifiers when using these environments. Buttons defined for
either left or right shift only will be modified to use either shift.

Buttons usings either shift would not work under Win 3.1 or Win95.
    Fixed.

Some button and keyboard commands (like ZW) would sometimes cause AutoCAD
to start a window or crossing selection set. Fixed.

SECFG would always clear the Detail Window and Scrollbar flicker free
    setting. Fixed.

Bringing up the icon panel would crash the system occasionally under NT
and more often under Win32s. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.B1 11/22/96

Misc Changes:
LOCKCHK.EXE is now only put into the seutil directory and is not
automatically executed by Soft Engine if a key is not found.

SECFG trys to be attached to the AutoCAD drawing window instead of being
    a separate window.

Bugs Fixed:
SELOGO could not be disabled by setting in SECFG. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.B1 (internal) 11/21/96

New Features:
SEKEY=D will load the factory default key definations.

LOCKCHK.EXE is an utility program that will inform you of vibrant feature
keys found on your system. Soft Engine will automatically run this
program if you installed with a non-demo serial number and the feature
    key checks fail.

Misc Changes:
SECLOCK default location changed to be above the display list meter
    default location.

EdgePan left side trigger area is from the right of the zoom bar, if the
viewport border is under the zoombar.

Bird's Eye button changed from button 2 shift click to button 2 shift
long press to avoid conflict with ACAD's default action.

HASP lock, HINSTALL.EXE updated to version 3.0. Now includes HINSTALL.HLP,
provides detailed help on using the HINSTALL.EXE program.

    InstallShield updated to v3.00.107.

Driver LOGO default location set to lower right corner of the acad frame.

Bugs Fixed:
Multiple instance of R12 under Win 3.1 would crash if you did not close
them down in the reverse ordered loaded. This is a bug with the heap
used in Win32s, but we found a way around it. This problem did
not always exhibit itself on every version (due to the different order of
memory allocations), but has always existed. Fixed.

Display list meter did not display correctly. Fixed.

Display list meter did not set factory default location correctly. Fixed.

EdgePan with shift would continue to pan after shift was released. Fixed.

A number of fixes to the toolbox to correctly set default location,
display toggle, permanent/temporary mode, and button activation.

A number of fixes to the toolstrip to correctly set default location,
display toggle, permanent/temporary mode, and button activation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.A9 11/15/96

New Features:
Added ^[ to represent an ESC key in the strings used by the toolbar,
    toolstrip, icon, and sekey.

Shift right button in Bird's Eye will zoom out, providing the same
function as the middle button for two button mice.

SESB=P command added. It is an alias for SDESB=S, which toggles
Soft Engine's control of the scroll bars (pan bars).

New command, SEPB. Controls only Soft Engines use of the scrollbars
    (pan bars).
SEPB toggles SE control of the scrollbars (panbars).
SEPB=Y Enables SE control of the scrollbars (panbars).
SEPB=N Disalbes SE control of the scrollbars (panbars).

    Added new override:
R12Detect=OEM Forces SE to assume it is running AutoCAD R12 OEM.

Changed 16 bit DSPUMA16.DLL to autodetect that it is running on R12OEM,
and to work correctly. Changed 32 bit vgadi32.dll to work with R12OEM.

Added R12 OEM to install as one of the available custom installation
    options.

Misc Changes:
Default Detail Window location moved to be inside the drawing area.

Default Bird's Eye window location moved to be inside the drawing area.

    InstallShield updated to v3.00.106.

Removed window size tags from VIBRANT-SEWIN_DLMETER since the window size
    is computed automatically.

Feature Dropped:
SEZB=B is no longer supported. Use SESB=B to control CPU graphics.

Bugs Fixed:
Enabling the zoombar when it was already displayed, by using SESB=Y or
SEZB=Y would cause SE to GP fault. Fixed.

Soft Engine Zoom Window and Previewed Zoom Windows functions only worked
    under R13. Fixed.

SECLOCK on first time powerup would not revert to factory default
    location. Fixed.

Display List Meter did not correctly respond to all commands, nor would it
display automatically on powerup sometimes. Fixed.

The display list meter was causing a GP fault after a reinit or config
    command. Fixed.

using the private R13 command interface to force R13 to check for pending
    driver input.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.A7 11/06/96

New Features:
New command, SEKEY. Controls use of keyboard macros.
        SEKEY
Invokes SEKEY macro recorder window. It first prompts you
for the key to program. After pressing the key, an editing
window and control buttons are displayed. The editing window
will show the current defintion, if any. To program the key
you may either type in characters in the editing window or
you may type the commands at the autocad command prompt.
AutoCAD will process your keystrokes and SEKEY will
remember them and display them in real time in the editing
                window.

        SEKEY=Y
Allows use of Soft Engine defined key macros.
        SEKEY=N
Disables use of Soft Engine defined key macros. The macros
are not cleared, only disabled. Use SEKEY=Y to reenable them.
        SEKEY=C
Clears out all custom definations. Use with caution.
        SEKEY=S
Performs no actions, provided for DOS compatibility.
        SEKEY=W,filename.scr
Will write out an AutoCAD script file that contains SEKEY
commands for all of your current key definations. This allows
a way to quickly give another Soft Engine windows user your
key definations. NOTE: This script file cannot be used with
Soft Engine DOS, due to the different formant used to describe
                keys under windows.
        SEKEY=WD,filename.scr
Identical to SEKEY=W,filename.scr except that the script file
written will use the Soft Engine DOS style keys. This file
may be used by both Soft Engine DOS and Soft Engine Windows.
You may need to manually examine the resulting script file,
since Soft Engine windows in some cases will generate key
combinations that are impossible under Soft Engine DOS, and
these invalid combinations are placed in the script file as
comments. Only use this command if you need to transfer key
macros back to Soft Engine DOS.
        SEKEY=keyid,shift(comment),"macro"
This command is used by the sekey=W command to define the
currently defined keys. You may also use this command to
program any key, but generally, it is difficult to use due
to the use of the Windows virtual key codes.
keyid: This is the Windows virtual key code to define.
shift: This defines how the virutal key code is modified:
0: Key is pressed by itself.
1: Key is pressed with the SHIFT key.
2: Key is pressed with the CTRL key.
3: Key is pressed with the ALT key.
Following the number is an optional comment enclosed in ()
"macro": is a double quoted string containing the string to
send to autocad. | chars are translated to spaces. To insert
an actual double quote char, use the sequence ^0x22. There
are a number of ^ commands available, see the online
                documentation for details.
        SEKEY=dosid(comment),macro
This command is used by the sekey=WD command and by Soft
Engine DOS to define the currently defined keys. This
command is provided only to allow users to import their key
macros from Soft Engine DOS. Note that this use of the SEKEY
                is automatically detected.
dosid: This is the DOS scancode for the key to define. The
comment enclosed in () is required. The comment itself does
not matter, but both () must be present.
macro: is a string containing the macro to sent to autocad.
All of the extended ^ commands used by both SEWin and SEDOS
are supported. | chars are translated to spaces. This string
is not double quoted. Note that DOS is able to generate some
key combinations that are reserved by Windows, these
combinations may not be used. See the online help for info.

New command, SEPAL. Controls use of palette colors.
        SEPAL
Invokes the Custom Config Palette editor.
        SEPAL=D
Switches to the AutoCAD defined default colors. This setting
is remembered and will be used when you restart Soft Engine.
If you have any unsaved palette changes, they are lost.
        SEPAL=C
Switch to your Custom Palette. The Custom Palette is defined
when you use the Custom Config Palette Editor or by using
the SEPAL=S command. This setting is remembered and will be
used when you restart Soft Engine. If you have any unsaved
                palette changes, they are lost.
        SEPAL=index,red,green,blue.
index: palette index from 9 to 255. Values 0-8 are ignored.
red: Red color value from 0 to 255.
green: Green color value from 0 to 255.
blue: Blue color value from 0 to 255.
This command defines a temporary change to the currently
display palette. To save the current displayed palette to
                your Custom Palette, use SEPAL=S.
        SEPAL=S
Saves the current display palette colors into the Custom
Palette and switches to using the Custom Palette just as
SEPAL=C does. This command is the only way to save temporary
                changes to the displayed palette.
        SEPAL=W,filename.scr
filename.scr is the path and filename of an AutoCAD script
file to create. If one already exists, it is overwritten. This
file will contain all of the SEPAL commands necessary to
duplicate the current palette. This command allows you a
quick way to save your colors for later use, or transfer
to/from Soft Engine DOS, or to give a co-worker your colors.

Added optional shift modifier to edgepan. By default enabled, it requires
you to hold down any SHIFT, CTRL, or ALT key in order for edgepaning to
activate. This prevents accidential edgepaning per user requests.

    SEEDGE has new parameter, shift
      SEEDGE=enable,distance,delay,speed,region,shift

shift is Y to require shift to activate edgepan, N to not require.

New tags in [VIBRANT-SEWIN-EDGEPAN] to control shift modifier.

New VIBRANTW.INI tags in [VIBRANT-SEWIN-SCRNCAPT] controls screen
    capture.

New command, SESCR. Controls screen capture.
SESCR=Y Enables Soft Engine PrintScreen key to write .BMP file.
        SESCR=N  Disables PrintScreen key.
SESCR=D Reverts to using factory default name of SESC0000.BMP in
                 system temp directory.
        SESCR=path\
Will use the supplied path with the default name of
SESC0000.BMP. You must supply the trailing backslash.
        SESCR=filename.bmp
The supplied filename, which may be a fully qualified name,
is use for the BMP file. If you do not supply a path, the
                 system temp directory is used.
The last four characters in the filename will always be forced
to be a number from 0000 to 9999.
SESCR Will write a .BMP file that contains the current AutoCAD
window. This will be either an 8 bit .BMP if your video
driver is using 256 or fewer colors, or a 24 bit .BMP if your
video driver is using more than 256 colors. Prior to writing
the .BMP file, if the current numerical sequence filename
exists, the filename is increased by one. This will continue
until a file that does not exist is found, or more than 9999
files have been tried. If all files from 0000 to 9999 exist,
                 then file 0000 is overwritten.
After the .BMP has been written, the
numerical sequence again is increased. Numerical sequences
are from 0000 to 9999. After 9999, it changes back to 0000.

New command, SEPAL. Control palette selection.
SEPAL Will display the Custom Config Palette editor.

Misc Changes:
    Updated SEHELP for new features.

Function number ID's for button command have been redefined to match DOS.
VIBRANTW.INI updated to match updated numbers.

EdgePaning will now allow minor moves of the cursors without aborting the
edgepan. This resolves problems with cursor jitter that make edgepanning
    jerky.

Bugs Fixed:
3.7.0.A6 used new config time code which had a bug that could cause a GP fault
when attempting to configure the driver for the first time. Fixed.

Status message window was not release it's window resources correctly.
    Fixed.

Paths to seres.cfg or secfg.cfg greater than 200 chars in length would crash
    Soft Engine. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

GC (and GCA) with no parameters work as before.
These commands are intended for DOS script (and lisp) compatibility and
normally are not needed. TrueErase is enabled/disabled for all viewports,
regardless of the command used (GC or GCA). You normally never need
to turn off TrueErase unless directed to do so by another product.

New command, SECOL. This command performs no action and is provided for
    Soft Engine DOS script compatibility.

New command, SETEXT. This command performs no action and is provided for

                   values are 1 - 200
delay: sets how long before the first pan in seconds. Default is
                   1.0, allowed values are 0.1 - 5.0 seconds.
speed: sets how long before the next pan in seconds. Default is
                   0.1, allowed values are 0.0 - 5.0 seconds.
region: defines the trigger zone in pixels from screen edge.
Default is 64, allowed values are 2 to 200. The actual
region used will never be more than 1/3 the size of the viewport.
All parametes are optional and if left blank will not change.
For example, to only change the size of the trigger area:
        SEEDGE=,,,,64

New feature, EdgePaning. Be default enabled, it defines a region near each
viewport border. When you move the cursor into the region, a status window
is displayed indicating that EdgePaning is active. If you stop moving the
cursor while in the region for the current delay time, then Soft Engine
will begin panning the drawing. The panning will repeat at the defined
interval until either you stop moving the cursor or a regen would be
necessary. Soft Engine pans in the direction that your cursor is from the
    center of the viewport.

Misc Changes:
Updated SEDEMO to show some of the 3.7 features.

Bugs Fixed:
Sometimes zooms with the Bird's Eye would queue up causing a lengthy
sequence of zooms performed by AutoCAD when you left the Bird's Eye.
Fixed by performing only the last zoom.

Sometimes the Bird's Eye would display and incorrect title and would not
work correct. In most cases, an error message was displayed indicating
that the Bird's Eye could not be created. Sometimes closing other
applications would fix the problem, sometimes you had to reboot NT.
Fixed by redesigning window initialization code to work around Window Message
    bugs in Windows.

The toolbar would leave both resources and memory unreturned to system.
    Fixed.

The toolstrip would leave both resources and memory unreturned to system.
    Fixed.

Icon system would leave both resources and memory unreturned to system.
    Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.A5 10/08/96

New Features:
Additional changes to SECFG, work still in progress. The config is almost
complete, but many of the new selections are not utilized by the driver.
Note that this version of secfg37.dll is NOT compatible with earlier
    versions.

During Alpha and Beta releases, SE will now automatically update
VIBRANTW.INI with the latest version, preserving most settings.

Misc Changes:
Rainbow system drivers updated to version 5.1.7.

Driver commands within VIBRANTW.INI are now enclosed in quotes.

Internal changes associated with internal storage of PCOMMAND commands
and mouse buttons were required to allow SECFG to modify buttons.

Internal changes allow lower case arguments for driver specific commands
to be processed. This was necessary for future commands.

Internal changes to driver specific command processing will allow for
    future extentsions.

Bugs Fixed:
VIBRANTW.INI was always written to even if nothing was changed. The
product code, serial number, and version number were always updated.
Now, these items are changed only if the .INI requires it.

A4 broke most driver specific commands due to changes for Soft Point.
    Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.A4 09/23/96

New Features:
Internal changes for ADS/ARX applications. Soft Engine now sends a
broadcast message when it is starting up, thus allowing other applications
to know when SoftEngine is becoming active. Used by SoftPoint to have
Soft Engine load the SOFTPNT.DLL file.

Numerous internal VLM changes for SoftPoint support.

Features Removed:
A3 looked for a file called SOFTPNT.CMD in the same directory as the Soft
Engine driver. This is no longer done since SoftPoint has been
split off into a separate .DLL.

Misc Changes:
    InstallShield updated to v3.00.104.

Hasp win32 interface libraries updated to v2.03. No change from v2.01.

Bugs Fixed:
    * none *

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.A3 08/18/96

New Features:
New changes to VIBRANTW.INI. If you have a prior 3.7 VIBRANTW.INI, you
must first erase that one to obtain access to the new features.

*TEMP*. Soft Engines looks for a file called SOFTPNT.CMD in the
same directory as the Soft Engine driver. If found, it loads it to
    provide Soft Point functionality.

Added VIBRANT-SEWIN-TOOLBOX section to vibrantw.ini file.

Added VIBRANT-SEWIN-TOOLSTRIP section to vibrantw.ini file.

Internal changes to allow toolbox and toolstrip to save/restore their
states. Note that the toolbox and toolstrip code does not yet use these
    changes.

New command, SEWSIZE. SEWSIZE=WIDTHxHEIGHT will resize the AutoCAD window
to be WIDTH pixels wide and HEIGHT pixels tall. Useful for reviewers and
authors who want to make screen captures of acad at a particular
    resolution.

    Changed command, SESB. Now supports:
SESB=S Will toggle Soft Engines control of the horizonal and
vertical scrollbars only. Will not affect ZoomBar.
SESB=Z Will toggle the display of Soft Engines ZoomBar. Will
not affect control of the horizonal or vertical scrollbars.

New command, SEZB, for ZoomBar control.
SEZB Will toggle the display of the ZoomBar.
        SEZB=Y  Will display the ZoomBar.
        SEZB=N  Will remove the ZoomBar.
SEZB=B Same as SESB=B, toggles CPU Graphics buffering for both
                ZoomBar and ScrollBars.

New VIBRANTW.INI tag, ADISlineTCSize. This tag controls how Soft Engine
reports to ACAD the desired format for high/true color scanline rendering
data. New default of 24 means that SE wants 24 bits/pixel data. Prior
versions of SE always used 32 bits/pixel. This option is mainly for
third party developers that wish to test their products to ensure that
they correctly support both 32 and 24 bit scanline data.

New command, SEDLL. SEDLL=L,filename.dll will load a Soft Engine specific
dll extension. SEDLL=U,filename.dll will unload the previously loaded
dll extension. Mainly for future use, but currently used by SoftPoint.

New command, SEINTERNAL*. * is the internal command number to execute, so
SEINTERNAL16 will act just like the SECFG command. While this command is
listed in the .INI file, it cannot be redefined by manually changing the
.INI file - the name is hardcoded in the driver. This command provides to
ADS and ARX applications a method to reliability execute any Soft Engine
command without worrying that the user has changed the command name by
    editing the .INI file.

Misc Changes:
    InstallShield updated to v3.00.101.

    Hasp HINSTALL.EXE updated to v2.2.

Custom config is now called SECFG37.DLL. There are new sheets in SECFG,
but they are not yet active and perform no action with the driver other
than to save restore some data to the .INI file. A later (most likely the
next one) will address secfg issues.

UseCustomPalette tag in vibrantw.ini has been removed and replaced with
    PaletteType tag.

Reworked driver command code for faster command processing and command
    rejection.

Bugs Fixed:
High/True color renderings in CPU graphics mode were broken by the
    A2 release. Fixed.

The entire rendering scanline read/write routines were completly rewritten
to fix problems in high/true color rendering in all display modes (CPU
Graphics, Video Card Graphics, Standard Windows).

Accurender would GP fault with SE. Numerical round off errors in the copro
were unaccounted for by Accurender. Accurender has just released a version
that prevents this problem. In addition, we setup the copro to avoid the
numerical problem with when they query the display characterists to allow
existing copies of Accurender to work correctly.

Sometimes the ZoomBar would not repaint correctly, leaving holes for the
    arrow buttons or itself. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7.0.A2 08/08/96

New Features:
    Added DOS style SEPAN command.

    Added display message window.

Added SETB command to bring up toolbar.

Added SETS command to bring up toolstrip.

Added SEICON=c,filename to compile icon.txt files.

Added Button Zoom Window command. Default is left SHIFT button 1 click. Hold down
button to draw window, release to zoom.

Added button Zoom Previous. Default is left SHIFT button 1 double click.

Misc Changes:
BE, DW, SBAR creation are now queued for a small amout of time to avoid
    the R13c4 adi bug.

Install changed to manually copy hasp95.vxd to the windows system dir
under win95 after hinstall.exe has run. This fixes an error message
caused by the hasp95.vxd included within hinstall.exe.

Bugs Fixed:
QWORD aligned CPU graphics buffers (instead of DWORD). This
fixed minor WING problem with some Mach64 under Win95.

Rewrote mouse registry to fix memory corruption.

    Fixed misc memory leaks.

During AutoCAD configuration, after exiting Soft Engine custom config, you
were unable to respond Y to the AutoCAD aspect ratio prompt. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Default is Button 1, ALT, DOUBLE CLICK.

Added SEICON command and button action.
Default is Button 2, LONG PRESS.

    Added SEIMPORT command.

Added new vibrantw.ini tags in [VIBRANT-SEWIN-MOUSE] section for mouse
    button functions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.4.C1 07/13/96

New Features:
Added NPURGE as an alias for GC to support Nth Engine users.

Misc Changes:
Installshield3 updated to latest version. (v3.00.100)

Rainbow Superpro system drivers updated to version 5.15.

Hasp system driver updated to v2.1. This appears to be the same as
    the 2.06 beta.

Bugs Fixed:
Changed R13 Win95 install to modify both the acad.ini in the windows
system directory and the acad.ini in the acad install directory.
Additional changes when writing out paths should fix problems where
the path is not stored correctly in the ACADDRV setting.

LT95 production release is now supported. Minor changes between LT3 Beta 1
and the (renamed to) LT95 production were resolved.

On LT95, GCA and RDA commands did not work. Fixed.

Changed all references from LT3 to LT95 since Autodesk renamed product.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.P4 05/17/96 - Product release.

New Features:
    ** NONE **

Misc Changes:
This release is only to address problems with the HASP system driver
running under NT 4.0 beta. The 2.01 HINSTALL.EXE program and it's
installed system drivers would cause a GP fault under NT 4.0 beta when
NT was booting. We have received from Aladdin an updated HINSTALL.EXE,
version 2.06 Beta which address this issue. This version includes
    the updated HINSTALL.

The updated HINSTALL.EXE no longer supports Win 3.1. We now manually
    install the HASP.386 driver.

The 16 bit DLL's, VGVDC16.DLL and DSPUMA16.DLL have been updated to
    v5.11B of the HASP software.

Bugs Fixed:
    ** NONE **

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.P3 05/15/96 (release for VGER only)

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc Changes:
    Installshield3 updated to latest version.

Bugs Fixed:
ZW command was sending to AutoCAD "_Zoom W ". The correct string is
"_Zoom _W ". Fixed required for German AutoCAD.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.P2 04/30/96 - (Japanese Production Release)

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc Changes:
Wacom build no longer shows the splash screen. It cannot be enabled,
and the associated settings in the .INI file are ignored.

Bugs Fixed:
R12/LT. Some fonts (mainly JIS-II) would have portions of the trailing
character on the command scrolling region clipped. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.P1 04/29/96 - Production Release

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc Changes:
Additional internal changes for VLM ADS/ARX interface.

Bugs Fixed:
    ** none **

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.B5 04/23/96

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc Changes:
Minor changes to enhance compatibility with AccelView 3d , an OpenGL
accelerator for R13c4. Soft Engine no longer clips items outside of
    their private transparent window.

Additional internal changes for yet unreleased VLM ADS/ARX interface.

Bugs Fixed:
    ** none **

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.B4 04/17/96

New Features:
    LT3 Beta is now supported.

Misc Changes:
The factory default for the Bird's Eye zoom/pan and for the
Zoombar/Scrollbar has been changed to FlickerFree. This is due
to customer requests since most Soft Engine customers are using
faster machines and PCI video boards.

    Uninstall updated for LT3.

Uninstall informs user about HASP and Sentinal lock drivers, and
will remove the HASP driver if so requested. Information is provided
informing user on how to uninstall the Sentinal driver.

    20 Developer Superpro locks supported.

Bugs Fixed:
In rare cases, the floating point unit could be in an undefined state
duringmessage handling, causing conflicts with the WINTAB subsystem.
In an attempt to correct this, the floating point unit is reset prior to
Soft Engine attempting to use it.

If not using CPU Graphics, in some cases, stray cursors would be left
on the screen after removing the Detail Window or Bird's Eye via
    the keyboard commands. Fixed.

Using a Matrox Millennium under Win95, sometimes the cursor color,
UCS Icon color, and drag colors would be incorrect. Internal changes
were made to work around the Matrox driver resolved this in most cases.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.B3

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc Changes:
R13c4, under Win3.1, if you do not have a plotter configured,
Autocad would not load, and you would have to erase ACAD.CFG
to force acad to reconfigure. R13c4 is incorrectly using our
display driver to register communication with the 16 bit plotter
support .DLL's. We worked around this by adding a new .DLL file
(VGW32SC4.DLL) that is used by Soft Engine for 32->16 bit thunks.
The install was updated to copy this file.

Bugs Fixed:
R13 under Win3.1, if our 16 bit .DLL is not found, sometimes
the error number displayed is incorrect. Error 2 (file not found)
    should be reported. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.B2 03/21/96

New Features:
When running on a dual screen system, you may now place the
Bird's Eye and Detail Window on the second screen and those
    locations will be remembered.

Misc Changes:
    Installshield 3 updated.

Now using MSVC v4.1 to build driver.

Bugs Fixed:
Installshield 3 install under Win3.1 (added in 3.6.3.b1) no longer
hangs waiting for the HINSTALL, WING, or WIN32 setup's.

Under R12, if a lisp or menu routine programmed a custom modeline
message, the modeline message would not appear and the window would
    be blank. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.B1 03/11/96

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc Changes:
The install was upgraded to INSTALLSHIELD v3.

HASP software (HINSTALL) upgraded to v2.01. To install the new
software, you first must remove the old (HINSTALL /r), reboot,
then install the new (HINSTALL /i) and reboot.

Updated Sentinal SENTW95.EXE. Removes the old 16 bit driver from a
    Windows95 installation.

Bugs Fixed:
When installing for LT, the current LT display driver was renamed
to ACLTDS.000 instead of ACLTDS.ORG. Both install and uninstall
    fixed.

Sometimes the splash screen timout would cause R13c4 to enter
an infinite window message loop. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.3.A1 02/16/96

New Features:
New .INI tag, SplashScreenTime. By default 3.5 seconds, this controls the
maximum time that the splash screen will be visible. Set to 0 to disable
the splash screen. Note that the splash screen is always removed when
AutoCAD has informed the display driver that it is ready for user input.

Bugs Fixed:
On some video boards under Win3.x, if you minimized and then maximized the
AutoCAD R12 window, the command area would not display correctely. This is
a bug with some video drivers, but now we force enough text settings to
    prevent the bug. Fixed.

R12, when using some nested dialogs, on rare occasions, the system would
lock. This was due to system color changes causes an uncontrolled loop.
    Fix not yet fully verified.

R12 BPOLY command, if you use the Pick Points, the outside area you
are picking within would be erased from the screen instead of highlighted.
A redraw will fix the problem. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.2.p3 02/08/96

New Features:
When we detect an older VIBRANTW.INI file (v3.6.1) we save the current
settings in it and then create the new VIBRANTW.INI file using the prior
    settings.

New VIBRANTW.INI tag, DisableMenuCursor. By default OFF, if enabled,
Soft Engine will not display a raster cursor when you are in the
Side Menu area or in the R12 Command Area. Some Matrox drivers for
Win95 and NT flicker the cursor very slowly and thus turning on this
option will prevent the cursor from flickering. Currently you may
only set this option by manually editing the VIBRANTW.INI file.

When exiting the drawing editor, your current settings are saved to
VIBRANTW.INI. These values are now saved much faster.

Bugs Fixed:
Some Matrox Win95 and NT drivers would not display the correct colors
for the AutoACAD cursors. This is a bug in their driver, but we now
detect it and work around it. Fixed.

The raster cursor would on some boards appear to flicker when over the
    R13 Zoom Bar. Fixed.

The fix in 3.6.2.b2 to remove lines left by lisp routines caused
CPU graphics to flicker when using any zoom or pan command. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.2.p2 02/01/96

CD-ROM #3.

Bugs Fixed:
When using the /C or -c option on the acad.exe command line (to
define the path to acad.ini and acad.cfg), Soft Engine would incorrectly
assume that this was the last option on the command line by using the
remaining characters as the path. Fixed.

The splash screen would cover any dialog boxes displayed by the driver,
thus preventing the user from responding to them. This would lock acad.
    Fixed.

When using LT, if the lock code failed, and you use the SECFG command
prior to the demo displaying, then the system would lock in a race
    condition. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.2.p1 01/26/96

    No changes from b2.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.2.b2 01/25/96

Bugs Fixed:
If a lisp routine turned off layers, depending on the drawing, it was
possible for some items on the screen not to be erased. A redraw
would usually clear it up, but sometimes, you had to use a RDA command.
    Fixed.

R13c4 only, the Bird's Eye now redisplays the image when you resize the
    acad window.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.2.b1 01/22/96

New Features:
R13c4 caused incompatibilities with Soft Engine. This version
    addresses all known R13c4 problems.

Soft Engine now displays a signon screen. This screen is only displayed
for a maximum of three seconds and it is always removed prior to acad
    being ready for user input.

Updated Rainbow Sentinal drivers, version 5.1. Now includes native
Win95 support. The setup program will update the files for you
    by using the following:
        Win3.1: c:\windows\SENTINAL.386 is updated.
        NT: c:\seutil\SETUPX86.EXE /Q /PC:\seutil
        Win95: c:\seutil\SENTW95.EXE /Q /PC:\seutil
    Upgraded Rainbow Sentinal library files.

    Updated Hasp drivers, v1.9.
        Win3.1: c:\seutil\HINSTALL.EXE /i
        NT: c:\seutil\HINSTALL.EXE /i
        Win95: c:\seutil\HINSTALL.EXE /i
    Upgraded Hasp library files.

Changed Features:
The Maximize box on the SESTAT dialog has been removed - it served no
    useful purpose.

SESTAT on NT in high/true color modes will indicate that WinG is
    not applicable.

SEDEMO is now centered on the screen. During the demo run, the
AutoCAD screen is covered and is not accessable.

Bugs Fixed:
NT, high/true color. If WinG installed, multiinstances of ACAD R13
would crash. This is a WinG bug, it does not correctly support
WIN32 multiinstance in high/true color modes. Since WinG does not
provide any performance enhancement in these modes, this was fixed by
not using WinG in these modes.

Internal changes to SESTAT, SEDEMO, SECFG and SCROLLBARS were made
to work around a R13c4 specific ADI bug.

SECFG is now associated with AutoCAD such that you will always be able
to see SECFG when ACAD is displayed. This resolves the problem of
clicking outside the SECFG window and having it disappear, requiring
you to use task manager to redisplay it.

Custom Config dialog shown during AutoCAD config is now associated with
    the AutoCAD TEXT window.

R12/LT. If other applications were running, it was possible (but very
rare) for SE to crash if the background application causes ACAD/LT
to repaint while the drawing editor was loading. Fixed.

If FlickerFree in the Detail Window was disabled, SE would crash if
you resized the Detail Window. Fixed.

SESTAT, under Win95, would display a useless value for the minor
version of Win95. This is actually a bug in the Win95 API call. Fixed
by displaying this large value in hex when under Win95.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.1.P1 12/14/95

    Released version.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.1.b3 12/09/95

Wacom build:
Support for Wacom Sentinal C36-P hardward lock. Only this
    build uses this lock.

Bugs Fixed:
R13c4 prerelease. When using SECFG or SESTAT commands, if you move
the dialog box, multiple copies of the dialog box may be created.
Depending on the OS, eventually you will crash. Fixed to prevent
R13 reentering SECFG, SESTAT, or SEDEMO commands. Note that
R13c4 prerelease has nested packet problems that generate
    internal errors.

SECFG did not save security settings into vibrantw.ini. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.1.b2 11/29/95

    Rebuild only.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.1.b1 11/17/95

New Features:
If you right click over the minimized Detail Window or Bird's Eye
it will be restored. This is identical to double left click, but
    easier to perform.

BENCHLT.SCR and BENCHLT.EXE are provided to test LT performance.

SECFG add a new configuration sheet, Security. Currently is used to
    select type of lock.

The install has been updated to support LT and VQ. It was reworked
to put the security files in a common directory, and now is able to
launch the WinG or Win32s configuration.

We have switch the version of Win32s that we provide from the 1.25a
core version to the 1.25a OLE version to ensure compatibility with
    other applications.

MEMUSED command for LT memory status compatibility.
TEMPBEV command for LT Bird's Eye compatibility.
    CLEANUP command for LT compatibility.
DSDRV_CONFIG command for LT 1 compatibility.
SDRV_STAT command for LT 1 compatiblity.

New VIBRANTW.INI tags for R12/LT/VQ detection overides and type
    of LT display driver.

Bugs Fixed:
In some cases a drag image would disappear depending on the zoom
    level and position. Fixed.

3.6.1.a1 did not completely release the 32 bit subsystem for R12/LT
when it was unloaded. This caused our .DLL's to remain in memory
    thus you could not uninstall.

Under LT and Win95, if was possible if the system was very loaded,
to cause a GP fault in the driver. This was a timing issue that
would only show up on slow machines or machines already very busy.
    Fixed.

Under LT, WinG would not perform as efficiently as possible if
both the Detail Window and Bird's Eye were disabled. Fixed.

LT has two types of display drivers, the ADESK driver and the
ARTIST driver. Most LT v1 use the ADESK driver, but some later
versions use the ARTIST driver. Most LT v2 use the ARTIST driver,
but earlier versions use the ADESK driver. We now detect the
type of driver if the original driver is named ACLTDS.ORG and
automatically inform LT what type of driver we are.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.1.a1 11/07/95

New features:
CPU Graphics has been redesigned to achieve greater performance. NT users
will see 30% faster redraws/zooms/pan. WinG under both Win3.1 and Win95 users
will see as much as 3x faster performance depending on the video board. All
performance increases apply to users using 8 bit mode (256 colors) only.
No change was made or necessary for high or true color modes.
Changes do not affect performance of 16 color modes.

VQ is now automatically detected and the RDA and GCA commands are mapped
to REDRAW instead of REDRAWALL. After running the DEMO program, REGEN is
    used instead of REGENALL.

Both the Detail Window and Bird's Eye will display the AutoCAD instance number
when multiple instances of R12 are run.

Under R12, Soft Engine uses memory buffers to transfer data to/from 32 bit mode.
Windows allocates these buffers out of the base 640k, thus reducing the available
memory needed save the data structues used to execute other programs.
We now allocate these buffers by accessing DPMI directly, bypassing Windows, thus
Soft Engine does not use any of the precious low memory.

Bugs Fixed:
Rarely when dragging, the image would leave ghost images. A timing issue
that rarly occured on slower machines and due to its random nature difficult
    to duplicate. Fixed.

GDI bypass would cause cursor lines to appear in wrong location under
chinese Win 3.1, both simplified and traditional versions. Fixed.

GDI bypass would cause cursor lines to appear in wrong location under
    Korean Win 3.1. Fixed.

While not tested, other double byte versions of Win 3.1 should also
    work with GDI bypass enabled.

Rarely, under R12 and CPU graphics, the command scrolling region would
become corrupted. This appears now to be finally fixed.

Multiple sessions of R13 did not work correctly, this was tracked down
    to a compile problem. Fixed.

Multiple sessions of R12 did not work correctly, this was tracked down
    to a compile problem. Fixed.

Multiple sessions of R12 would crash occasionally when exiting one
session. The 16/32 bit communication layer was re-written to prevent this
problem, this resulted in slightly better multiple session performance.

Multiple sessions of R12 would not run under Win95. The WOW thunk layer was
redesigned to correct this case. Fixed.

When running multiple sessions of R12, the AutoCAD cursors would disappear
after you stopped moving the input device. Fixed.

Known Bugs:
GDI bypass on Number Nine Imagine I128 boards under Win3.1 does not work.
If using this board, turn off GDI bypass.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.p4 - 10/23/95

Bugs Fixed:
If fastmath was turned off, and you zoom all the way out on some drawings,
you could generate a GP fault. The actual case that caused this was a
world space polygon (or by turning off regions everything is world space)
scaled via standard math that degenerated into a line.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.p3 - 10/17/95 -

Bugs Fixed:
R12 running WinG would sometimes corrupt the command area during script
files. This still happens in rare cases, but generally fixed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.p2 - 10/10/95 -

Bugs Fixed:
Win 3.1, using ALT-TAB to switch tasks would leave cursor ghosts on
    the screen. Fixed

R13 NT, sometimes activating AutoCAD by picking the window would leave
    a ghost cursor. Fixed.

VIBRANTW.INI. VibKey had a garbage character at end of string which
caused problem with some editors. Fixed.

R12, if SEDEMO was left unattended, eventually, ACAD would GP fault.
    Fixed.

R12, when in DEMO mode, if left unattended, eventually, ACAD would GP
    fault. Fixed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.p1 - 10/09/95 -

New Features:
    ** none **

Misc changes:
VIBRANT.INI has been changed to VIBRANTW.INI to avoid conflicts with
    the DOS products.

By default, VIBRANTW.INI disables checking for the NETHasp since the
majority of users are not using the network Hasp.

Below are the errors numbers that Windows may return when attempting
to load the VGADI32.EXE program when using R12Win under Windows 3.x.

0 System was out of memory, executable file was corrupt, or relocations were invalid.
 2 File was not found.
 3 Path was not found.
5 Attempt was made to dynamically link to a task, or there was a sharing or network-protection error.
6 Library required separate data segments for each task.
8 There was insufficient memory to start the application.
10 Windows version was incorrect.
11 Executable file was invalid. Either it was not a Windows application or there was an error in the .EXE image.
12 Application was designed for a different operating system.
13 Application was designed for MS-DOS 4.0.
14 Type of executable file was unknown.
15 Attempt was made to load a real-mode application (developed for an earlier version of Windows).
16 Attempt was made to load a second instance of an executable file containing multiple data segments that were not marked read-only.
19 Attempt was made to load a compressed executable file. The file must be decompressed before it can be loaded.
20 Dynamic-link library (DLL) file was invalid. One of the DLLs required to run this application was corrupt.
21 Application requires Microsoft Windows 32-bit extensions.

Bugs Fixed:
    ** none **

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b8 10/04/95

New Features:
If you change the value for Wing Support in SECFG, it takes action
at that time. You no longer have to use REINIT or CONFIG for SE to
    change it's WinG support.

Bugs Fixed
When BE or DW have focus, first character typed was repeated twice
    on AutoCAD command line. Fixed.

R12, GDI bypass enabled, if SESTAT was created over the Bird's Eye,
the Bird's Eye cursors would overwrite the SESTAT dialog. Fixed.

Under R12, ZI, ZO, and ZV commands would sometimes perform incorrect
actions. This was due to the floating point unit not correctly
    initialized. Fixed.

R13, Win3.1, changing the background color would not update the background
color of the DW or BE. This was due to an interaction between WinG and
Win32s. If you installed the OLE version of Win32s, the problem would not
occur. We now work around it by re-creating the backstores from scratch
after you change the background colors.

Feature key tests were performed backwards, now the network is the last
    one checked.

R13, Win3.1, pressing F1 from SESTAT screen locked up system. Fixed.

R12, NT and Win95, toolbar did not refresh, and under Win95 screen
was corrupted. This was a bad compile, and was also related to the
floating point unit not correctly initialized. Fixed.

When the BE is over a non-zoomable viewport, it displays an X.

When the DW is over a non-zoomable viewport, it displays an X.

When short non-orthogonal cursors are displayed, then are now clipped
    to the viewport borders.

If the DW was displayed over a non-zoomable viewport and it contained
non-orthogonal cursors, it would generate a GP fault. Fixed.

The same DW and BE bug that affected R13 Win3.1 with color changes also
    affected the Aerial View. Fixed.

If the BE was shrunk in height too small, you had to use the Fit or All
buttons to restore the image. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b7 10/02/95

New Features:
If WinG is present on NT, it is used. Under NT 3.5, WinG does not
provide any significant performance enhancements, but under NT 3.51 WinG
sometimes significatly increases CPU graphics performance.
Prior versions of Soft Engine always ignored WinG when running under NT.

SESTAT changed to show WinG enable/disabled under NT.

The Line cursor length setting within Soft Engine configuration
(ADI tab) will now set the length of non-orthoangle cursors.

Within VIBRANT.INI, the VibKey= statement may contain any of the following
    strings:
HASPNETOFF Prevent checking for Hasp network lock.
        HASPOFF Prevent checking for Hasp.
SPROOFF Prevent checking for Rainbow Superpro.
    See VIBRANT.INI for additional information.

Within VIBRANT.INI, is a new section [VIBRANT-SEWIN-MOUSE]. This
is where future mousehook button information will be stored. Currently
the only tag defined is SEMouseHook= (ON,OFF). ON will enable a double
click on button 1 (left button) to be Zoom Previous, and a single click
on button 2 (right button) to be Zoom Window. These actions are currently
hardcoded and will be programmable in later releases.

Under R12, the raster cursor is now displayed when in the sidemenu area
or the command line area. Normally, R12 does not display the raster cursor
    in either of these areas.

Under R12, the AutoCAD line cursors will not be displayed when in the
sidemenu area, the toolbar, or the command line area. Normally, R12 always
displays the line cursors when in these areas, thus, the user is presented
    with two cursors.

Bugs Fixed (Lindens bug report)
SESTAT dialog would crash system if system menu items were selected. Fixed.

SESTAT dialog box now responds to system menu options, either from mouse
    or from ALT SPACE.

R12, pressing F1 inside SESTAT dialog will now bring up Soft Engine help,
except under Win3.1, where it is not possible to perform this action.

R13, pressing F1 inside SESTAT dialog will no longer display AutoCAD's
help, but instead will display Soft Engine's help.

SESTAT, TAB and SHIFT TAB will toggle between controls.

Feature Key messages no longer refer to Hasp, but, only refer to it
    as the Feature Key.

Under R12, the Bird's lines would flicker during interaction. Fixed.

Under Win95 or NT with the new shell, a vertical line of pixel trash was
left just to the right of the zoombar. Fixed.

Under R12 Win3.1, changing any of the AutoCAD preferences colors would
result in slow screen repair with garbage. This turned out to be a
interaction between Win16 and Win32s. Fixed.

Under R12 Win3.1, changing any of the AutoCAD preferences colors would
result in the toolbar becoming corrupted. Fixed.

After changing background colors, DW and BE did not update their
    background color. Fixed.

Under Win95 or NT with new shell, the Bird's Eye and Detail Window
did not take into account the extra size required for the title area
and thus, the displayed title was sometimes clipped before switching
to the next smaller title. Fixed.

Under Win95 or NT with new shell, the Detail Window did not display
    a Vibrant Icon. Fixed.

Other Bugs Fixed.
Pressing the ESC key inside the SESTAT dialog acts just like clicking on
    the OK button.

SESTAT would sometimes crash the system or not display all information.
This was due to a buffer overflow. Fixed.

Cursors and draglists are removed prior to displaying SESTAT or SEHELP.

SESTAT, OK button is always made the default one (ENTER key).

Under R13, the Bird's Eye lines would flicker right after performing
    a zoom. Fixed.

Under R12J or LTJ, the layer pulldown menu would become corrupted under
Win3.1. Redesigned our window presentation clipping code to account for
    Win3.1 16bit window Z order behavior. Fixed.

When entering the Bird's Eye toolbar area, the cursor is now always forced
    to the Arrow cursor.

If Soft Engine scrollbars were disabled, cursor "ghosts" could remain
when moving over toolbars and when tooltips appeared.

Starting with R13c3, due to AutoCAD's updated MFC libraries, Soft Engine
was no longer able to determine that the cursor was over the AutoCAD
toolbars. Now we use an internal timer to check the cursor every 1/4
second, and if the cursor is displayed, to remove the Autocad line cursors.
This prevents ghost cursors from being left on the screen.

The display of a pickbox in a non-zoomable viewport whould cause
    a protection fault. Fixed.

On Alpha or Beta builds, if you are in demo mode, the SEDEMO command
will not allow you to redisplay the demo. Fixed.

On slower machines, after running the Demo program, the sidemenu area
would not be displayed correctly until you picked a menu item. Fixed.

The method used to draw items in the toolbar was changed to hopefully
    avoid palette color conflicts.

In some cases the R12 toolbar was not displayed correctly after
a config command, usually when SE scrollbars were disabled. Fixed.

R12, after a config command, upon returning to the drawing editors, AutoCAD
would always regen the drawing due to the scrollbars. With some drawings,
AutoCAD became confused (SITE-3D) and required a regenall to correct. Now,
SoftEngine does not remove the scrollbars unless a new driver is selected,
    which prevents the regen.

R12 render, using CPU graphics, and smooth shading disabled, is now
    correctly supported.

R12 render, using Redraw method, and smooth shading disabled, is now
    correcly supported.

R12 render, using Redraw method, and smooth shading enabled, will nolonger
consume excessive memory. Note that window restore is not supported in
this mode, use either backstore or CPU graphics.

After running the Demo program, some areas on the screen would not be
restored. This depended on CPU cpeed, R13 vs R12, and OS. Fixed.

Under some cases, the ZoomBar/PanBars would not complete the display
    of the image. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b6 09/27/96

New Features:
New Sbar button in BE will toggle the scrollbars on/off.

SEDEMO=time is only valid for Alpha and Beta builds.

For Japan builds, both IBM 36 and 25 pin hasp locks are checked on
DOS/V type machines, under Win3.1, Win95 and NT.

For Japan builds, the correct product codes 209, 211, 212 are now checked
    under Win95 and NT.

Lockman added for easy multiple lock checks.

    Redesigned HASP code using LockMAN.

New support for Rainbow Superpro locks, including J versions.

New support for NetHasp network locks. The VIBKEY environment variable
is not required. Soft Engine WIn is product 17, SEWin J (r13/12) is 19,
SEWin J LT is 20. Product 112 is a universal unlock.

New DSVIEWER command will invoke Vibrant Bird's Eye under R12. Provides
compatibility with R12 and LT users.

Bugs Fixed:
R12/LT, using SECFG to change the redraw method would leave the toolbar
corrupted when moving another window over it. Fixed.

Sometimes keyboard commands would be ignored, or you would have to issue
the command twice (ie: ZV ZV). This turned out to be yet another MSVC
    floating point compiler error. Fixed.

Sometimes the BE would not display the entire image after using the
    Fit button. Fixed.

Sometimes the ZV/ZA commands would not display the entire image. Fixed.

If the Detail Window was tall and skinny, you would sometimes see a
vertical bar just to the right side of the middle in the DW. Fixed.

While fixed in the B1 release, it was not documented that 3.54 could
general protection fault when displaying solids (wide plines, polygons)
in Paperspace or any non-zoomable view.

The borderline in the BE added in B4 did not extend to the entire right
side if you have scrollbars displayed.

While changed in B3, it was not documented that when using flicker-free
option, the number of divisions has been changed from 8 to 3 for the DW
and 4 for paning operations. Reducing did not slow down these options
since it turned out that more time was being spent in windows processing
the calls than the actual blits to the screen were taking.

While changed in B4, it was not documented that the zoombar in the
Bird's Eye height was slighly increased to prevent doble black lines where
it touches the horizonal pan bar.

The BE toolbar sizing has been fixed to account for the extra space
that Win95 or NT with the newshell require. This also fixes the pulldown
being too small, which required the use of the down/up arrow keys to view the
    list.

Error message about VGADI95.DLL has been removed. Win95 GDI bypass will
    not be in this version.

Vibrant.INI message changed to indicate that this is normal for
    first time installations.

Under LT, after DEMO finishes, Soft Engine sent a REGENALL command, which
is not supported by LT. Now Soft Engine sends a REGEN command which
under LT performs the same action.

Under LT, the GCA and RDA commands did not work since they used REDRAWALL
which is not supported by LT. Now under LT those commands use the REDRAW
command which under LT performs the same action.

The AutoCAD cursors are now removed prior to displaying the Demo.

R12 render with CPU Graphics and smoothshading are 2x faster.

Known Bugs:
R12 render with CPU graphics or REDRAW methods with smooth shading off
do not restore when windows are moved.

R12 render with REDRAW method uses excessive memory - do not use this
    combination.

R12 Win3.1, changing background color when using CPU graphics and WinG
leads to very slow window repair or crashing. This appears to be a
    video card and WinG interaction.

When switching to BACKSTORE method and redraw optimizations enabled,
until a zoom or regen, moving windows results in corrupted images.

After running the DEMO under LT and Win3.1, the command scrolling area
    will not update.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b5 09/15/95

Overview:
Final beta for Japaneese. Only released in Japan.

Bugs Fixed:
BE did not use font selected by user in AutoCAD's preferences dialog. Fixed.
If you change the font, you must turn off BE and turn it back on to use the
    new font.

Communication file between SE and SEDEMO was not erased under all cases. Fixed.

Lock code changed for DOS/V and NEC98. SEWin/J uses different products codes
        209 - r13, 211 - r12, 212 - LT.
SE autodects and looks for correct product code in lock.
When under DOS/V type of machine, both IBM36 and DB25 locks are checked.

    Removed SETEST code.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b4 09/14/95

Overview:
Bug fixes only. No render bugs fixed.

New Features:
    R12 command line cursor.

Border line in Bird's Eye at bottom of toolbar area.

Bugs Fixed:
R12 toolbar is displayed when shrinking the AutoCAD window.

R12 command line border line is displayed when shinking the AutoCAD window.

R12 would sometimes display garbage when using ZoomBar. Fixed.

Feature Key and SEDEMO retry code would fall into a loop that prevented you
from configuring or exiting AutoCAD. Fixed.

Retry from SEDEMO did not work. Fixed.

Bird's Eye mode box and toolbar area should now always fit. Linden, please
check Win95 for me, I can't here in JP.

Under LT, the CONFIG options from either SEDEMO or from the feature key checks
now act same as quit options since under LT you cannot reconfigure.

Internal timers ran too fast, demo mode finished in around 14 minutes. Now, they
are quite accurate, demo mode terminates in just over 20 minutes (verified).

Demo mode now give 20 minutes from the end of SEDEMO, the time spent in
SEDEMO does not count toward the 20 minutes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b3 09/08/95

Overview:
Bug fixes only. No render bugs fixed.

New Features:
    NONE.

Bugs Fixed:
R12/LT under Win3.x would overwrite the zoombar. Fixed.

R12/LT would sometimes leave garbage in the command scrolling region when
using the Bird's Eye real-time pan and zoom. CPU speed and drawing
    size dependent. Fixed.

R12/LT zoombar did not work correctly. Was due to a Microsoft C compiler
bug. Rewrote affected code to avoid compiler bug. Fixed.

R12/LT double byte characters did not always appear correctly in the command
    scrolling region. Fixed.

    R13/R12/LT. If a real-time zoom/pan from the Bird's Eye was aborted, then
viewport was not always redrawn correctly if Redraw Optimizations was
    enabled. Fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.6.0.b1 08/30/95

Overview:
This is an beta release of 3.6. This includes all changes to the retail
R13 driver from 3.5.4, along with initial R12 support and VLM suppport
for Watcom. Note that some of the same files are used for R13 and R12, just
    the name changes.

Internally, very little has changed from the 3.54 release, since that
release contained most of the R12/LT code.

Note to Beta Testers. We are aware of most of the rendering problems. Please
do not report rendering bugs until you have received the B2 release.

R12/LT issues:
Scrollbars now work, but there are some zoombar clipping problems.

Scrollbar buttons do not always position correctly.

Toolbar button icons do not display correctly on Win32s or Win95.

Toolbar has bright green lines under Win95.

Continued problems with Render performance under REDRAW mode.

Changed R12/LT/LT2 detection, now works under Win32s and Win95.

Toolbar is not correctly restored under Win95 or Win32 after using
    SECFG.

Under R12, the -C command line switch is now supported.

R12 render has some problems if you use the Full Render options and
Smooth Shading is disabled. In general, you should use CPU Graphics
for now since the REDRAW method will use EXTENSIVE memory trying to remember
all of the little pieces that R12 sends to the driver.

The color dialog box in render preferences sometimes displays incorrect
    colors.

(grtext -1 ...) commands will not display the string in the toolbar.

New features to retail since 3.54
- If the Feature Key is not located, then the product now executes a Demo
describing the features of Soft Engine. Once the demo is complete, you may
use the driver for about 20 minutes, upon which, you must either exit AutoCAD
or reconfigure to a new driver.

- New SEDEMO command allows you to review the demo provided with the product.

- The SESTAT dialog box has been reworked to always appear correct on
different resolutions/fonts and for Win95. SESTAT diablog now contains Help
  button.

- As an user enhancement, Soft Engine removes the AutoCAD cursors when you
leave the drawing area or you are over Soft Engine objects. Now,
the AutoCAD cursors are removed when you are also over any AutoCAD floating
  toolbars.

- The search technique locating and creating VIBRANT.INI has been changed
to be consistant with AutoCAD's search technique for ACAD.INI. Now Soft
Engine may be loaded on a server in a read-only subdirectory just like AutoCAD,
and Soft Engine will respond to the same command line options or environment
variables that AutoCAD does. Here is the updated search method:

  1. If the environment variables VIBWIN is defined, it is treated as a
list of directories to search each seperated by a semi-colon, just
like the PATH environment variable. Each of the directories specified
is searched for VIBRANT.INI. If non of the directories contains
VIBRANT.INI, then the first directory specified will be used to
     create the factory default VIBRANT.INI.

  2. Next, if you specified a /C or -C option on the ACAD.EXE command
line, to specify to AutoCAD the directory for it to use for ACAD.CFG
and ACAD.INI, then that directory will be use to either locate VIBRANT.INI
     or create VIBRANT.INI.

  3. Next, if the environment variable ACADCFGW is specified, which AutoCAD uses
to specify the location for ACAD.CFG and ACAD.INI, it is used to either
     locate or create VIBRANT.INI

  4. Finally, the directory where Soft Engine was loaded from is used to either
     locate or creat VIBRANT.INI.

Bugs fixed to retail since 3.54

- Using CPU graphics on Win95 without WinG installed usually resulted in
correpted displays on ATI cards. While running CPU graphics without
WinG is not recommended, this case with ATI cards has been fixed.

- Under very rare cases, using CPU graphics and running a script in the
background, and the script created toolbards, with the AutoCAD window
completly covered sometimes resulted in a General Protection fault. Fixed.

- If you are in a non-orthangle view (ex: vpoint 1,1,1) the cursors would
sometimes leave ghost images when touching the toolbar and tooltips
  appeared. Fixed.

- If you are in a non-orthangle view (ex: vpoint 1,1,1) the cursors would
sometimes leave ghost images when you accessed the Task Manager, or
  the system screen saver. Fixed.

- The search technique for VIBRANT.INI has been made consistent with the same
technique that AutoCAD uses for ACAD.INI and ACAD.CFG for network installations.
See new features above for details.
