1. Where is the KeyMail program icon?
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

KeyMail does not have a standard program icon under the START...PROGRAMS
...WINKRYPT program group.  KeyMail works in your Inbox (Exchange / 
Windows Messaging).  Open Inbox, and click COMPOSE...NEW MESSAGE.  You
will see the KeyMail icon in the toolbar (it looks like an envelope with
a padlock next to it.)


2. Important Notes

The following are various observations, clarifications, issues and/or 
problems that we feel are important for our users to know before using
WinKrypt.


KEYMAIL
-------

1. Included with Microsoft Office 95 is an add-on to your Inbox called
   WordMail.  This is an e-mail editor that replaces your standard 
   message editing window, and you see it when you click COMPOSE...NEW 
   MESSAGE.  This version of KeyMail currently does not support this
   replacement editor.

   To disable WordMail, click COMPOSE...WORDMAIL OPTIONS.  De-select 
   the checkbox labeled "Enable Word as e-mail editor".

2. The PASSWORDS.INI in C:\PROGRAM FILES\SYNCRONYS\WINKRYPT\KEYMAIL
   folder that stores the associations between your References and
   Passwords is overwritten when you reinstall KeyMail.  We recommend
   that you back this file up if you need to reinstall KeyMail for
   any reason.

3. When searching for your PASSWORDS.INI file, remember that its default 
   location can be found at: C:\PROGRAM FILES\SYNCRONYS\WINKRYPT\KEYMAIL.


KEYDISK
-------

1. In the log file, the dates for each entry are logged in European 
   format, i.e. DD/MM/YY.  This cannot be modified by the user.

2. Remember, a Decoder, needed when the message has been encoded by
   the mail program (using Base64 (MIME) or UUEncoding), can be found
   at http://www.syncronys.com/winkrypt-decoder.html


KEYSEARCH
---------

1. Under the FIND FILES tab, under Advanced Filters, the field called
   CONTAINING TEXT applies to INCLUDED files only, not EXCLUDED files 
   as the rest of the window implies.


KEYSEARCH AND KEYDISK
---------------------

1. For protection of system files, locking files in the root, Windows,
   and Windows\System folders is prohibited in KeySearch.  However, it
   is enabled in KeyDisk.  Take caution in locking these files with
   KeyDisk, as you may lock yourself out of your own system.

2. Avoid attempting to lock or backup a file that is in use, as file
   integrity problems have appeared under these conditions.  When locking
   a file, check to be sure other applications that may be using the file
   are closed.

3. If you are using the "Lock On Windows Exit" feature, or the "Activate
   Backup...When Exiting Windows" features, choosing the "Close all 
   programs and log on as a different user" will not perform the operation.  
   Instead choose "Restart the Computer" or "Shut Down the Computer".
