2. Overview:
============

INSTANT player is a very easy to use and a convenient CD-ROM utility.
It monitors the CD-ROM drive directly. When any CD-ROM disk is inserted
into a CD-ROM drive, INSTANT player checks CD-ROM disk type first(such
as Audio CD, Video CD, Photo CD or CD-ROM title), and then loads its
corresponding software instantly.

Besides INSTANT player, there are 2 other useful utilities included in
this package:
(1) SMARTCD Photo Access Software:
       Used to access your PhotoCD disks. It incorporates many features,
       such as photo catalog, image translation, wallpaper and slide show.
(2) SMARTCD Audio player:
       Used to play your Audio CD records. You can play in a normal or
       random order, change volume up or down, or skip forward/backward.

The installation program adds the following line into [windows] section
in WIN.INI file under Windows directory.

run = \path\instcd.exe

Which runs the INSTANT player automatically when Windows started. You will
see SMARTCD INSTANT window at the right bottom of Windows each time
Windows starts.

If you want to start INSTANT player manually. Follow the steps below:
(1). Use an text editor to remove the line "run=\path\instcd.exe from
     [windows] section in WIN.INI profile file.
(2). Double click the INSTANT player icon each time after Windows started.

6. AUTORUN.INF
==============
INSTANT player supports the AUTORUN features described below:

The AUTORUN.INF file contains at least three lines of text:

[autorun]
open=\path\filename.exe
icon=\path\filename.ico

filename.exe is any run file to be launched when CD is inserted. Whenever
a CD is inserted, INSTANT player looks for AUTORUN.INF file in the root of
the inserted CD. If it exists, INSTANT player launches filename.exe
immediately.

AUTORUN.INF makes playing a CD title as simple as playing a TV game.
Simply insert a CD disk, INSTANT player runs it (filename.exe) instantly.

It better to have a small filename.exe to provide a quick response.
For example, filename.exe can be a simple stub program used to ask user
to select one task among some major functions your title provided.
Such as install, load/play, configure, or cancel. After user selected,
filename.exe launches the correspondent program file from CD disc.

We recommend that all CD title publishers to place a AUTORUN.INF in the
root of CD disk. Which make user extremely easy to play CD titles with
INSTANT player.

Just plug-in and play !
