How to use this document
------------------------

To view Readme.txt on screen in Notepad, maximize the Notepad window.

To print Readme.txt, open it in Notepad, WordPad, or another word
processor.  Then select the entire document and format the text in
10-point Courier font before printing.

   1.  Installing Seagate Backup Exec

Run the "setup" utility in the folder containing the compressed
files.  This utility will launch InstallSHIELD which will take you
through the process of creating folders and uncompressing the files
that comprise Seagate Backup Exec.


   2.  Uninstalling Seagate Backup Exec

To uninstall Seagate Backup Exec, follow these steps:

1) Ensure that Seagate Backup Exec is not running.
2) Close all folders.
3) Go to Start menu -> Settings -> Control Panel, click Control Panel
4) Double click on "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
5) Select "Backup Exec" from the list of programs.
6) Click on the "Add/Remove" button to uninstall, confirm by clicking
   the "Yes" button.
7) If the system asks to remove any shared files, please answer "no",
   as these files are possibly needed by another application.

Note:  The uninstall feature only deletes files installed by
Seagate Backup Exec, not files created by the program such
as the catalog file.
