Welcome to Band-in-a-Box for Windows version 7.0

All of the files should be installed to the 'home directory' of
Band-in-a-Box (we suggest C:\BB).
Files like Styles, Soloists and Harmonies *must* reside in this
home directory, so that they can be found by the program when needed.

*** The installation is NOT finished. You'll need to install any ADD ON
style or soloist disks that you have.
You should install these add-on disks separately when
you've completed this installation. These add-on disks use PKUNZIP to UNZIP
files to your c:\bb directory - see instructions on disk. You can
install these disks by going to the A: DOS prompt, and typing INSTALL.
(don't type A:Install from Windows, you need to go to a DOS prompt of A: )
******************************
BBW 7.0 requires a computer with 4mb RAM or more.
Enhanced mode with swap file of at least 4 mb is recommended.
It will not run on a 2mb machine.
Programs that compress memory eg.,"DoubleRAM" are not recommended.
******************************
If you use TSR virus scanning programs (like VSAFE.SYS (from CPAV or DOS 6.0))
sometimes these programs won't let you run an upgraded version without a
message that the program's .exe size has been "changed" (i.e. upgraded ).
Sometimes they issue a message like (File access denied) when you try to
run the new program. If so, delete the c:\bb\smartchk.cps or
c:\bb\chklist.ms file that these programs use for checking, and re-run the
program. Note: You should not encounter this problem with a normal install
of BBW, it is only applicable if you install "manually" for some reason.
******************************
INSTALLING FROM DOS IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH INSTALL FROM WINDOWS
If you have any problems installing the software using the installation
program, you can install the program "manually" from DOS (or a DOS Window).
To do this, run the INSTDOS.BAT program. This program uses the DUNPACK.EXE
utility to expand the files to your c:\bb directory. If installing manually
remember to read the READDOS.TXT file which tells you to copy the 2 font files
to c:\windows\system .
******************************
If the installation program can't copy the pgtext.ttf or pgmus.ttf file
this means that these font files are already in use by Windows. This occurs
when you are already running one of PG Music's programs as you try
to install a new one. In this case, reboot Windows and install again.

Have Fun ! PG Music Inc.
