Tag -> SurfaceTag

The Tag -> SurfaceTag command in the Model module allows you to perform tag, untag, or reverse tag operations on all points of a model that are contained within a polygon mesh that you create. This effect is particularly useful for tagging a group of points on models with a large number of points. It is also a convenient tool for tagging points that are far apart from each other on a complex model.

Procedure

1. Create a polygon mesh object and a model.

2. Position the polygon mesh over the model as desired.

3. Choose the Tag -> SurfaceTag command.

The SurfaceTag dialogue box is displayed.

4. Set the projection plane for the curve, and select a tagging operation: Tag, Untag, or Reverse Tag. This affects the points contained within the surface. The model's points within the boundary are tagged according to the operation you choose, but model's points outside the boundary of the polygon mesh are not affected.

5. Pick the polygon mesh, then pick the model.

6. Choose the Show -> Tag command to view the result.
