Preferences -> Setup File

The Preferences -> Setup File command, available in all modules except Tools, lets you save and load a preferences setup file.

When you save a scene, an .sts file is automatically saved in the database in the SETUP_SOFT chapter, under <scene_name>.sts.

Setup information for the scene includes such things as:

Desktop and layout information
Camera settings
Mouse settings
Settings for the Show menu, the Preferences menu, and various toggle commands found in menus in all modules except Tools
Rendering parameters and preview settings
Duplicate Setup settings

You may save preferred settings to an .sts setup file using the Preferences -> Load command.

Procedure

1. To save preferred settings to a file, choose the Preferences -> Save command.

2. The Save File dialogue box is displayed, in which you can specify a file name with the .sts suffix.

3. To load a setup file, choose the Preferences -> Load command.

4. When you do, the Load browser is displayed from which you can choose a file (.sts suffix).

Note:: You can also load an .sts file using the -s option when you start SOFTIMAGE 3D from the command line.
