Preferences -> Setup File
The Preferences -> Setup File command, available in all modules except Tools, lets you save and load a preferences setup file.
When you save a scene, an .sts file is automatically saved in the database in the SETUP_SOFT chapter, under <scene_name>.sts.
Setup information for the scene includes such things as:
- Desktop and layout information
- Camera settings
- Mouse settings
- Settings for the Show menu, the Preferences menu, and various toggle commands found in menus in all modules except Tools
- Rendering parameters and preview settings
- Duplicate Setup settings
You may save preferred settings to an .sts setup file using the Preferences -> Load command.
Procedure
1. To save preferred settings to a file, choose the Preferences -> Save command.
2. The Save File dialogue box is displayed, in which you can specify a file name with the .sts suffix.
3. To load a setup file, choose the Preferences -> Load command.
4. When you do, the Load browser is displayed from which you can choose a file (.sts suffix).
- Note:
- You can also load an .sts file using the -s option when you start SOFTIMAGE 3D from the command line.
