Light -> Associate/Disassociate

The Light -> Associate/Disassociate command is available in all modules except Tools. It allows you to associate or disassociate a selective light to or from specific objects. You may want to use it for controlling lights for a specific effect. One specific use of this command is to save rendering time. This command can be used if you are using raytraced lights: shadows rays are not cast from objects that are not influenced by light, so there is less information to process.

Note:
To use this command, you must define the light as selective when you create or edit it (see Light -> Define or Light -> Edit).

Procedure

1. Select the objects or hierarchies to which you want to associate the light, or from which you want to disassociate the light.

2. Choose the Light -> Associate/Disassociate command.

3. Pick the light.
