Get -> Text

The Get -> Text command is available in all modules except Tools. It lists fonts available in SOFTIMAGE 3D and allows you to type text using the selected font.

Letters are faces that can be extruded. When the text appears, each letter has a null at its base and all the nulls are linked in a hierarchy whose parent is the null of the first letter.

When you choose the Get -> Text command, the Text dialogue box is displayed.

Parameters

Font List

Lists available fonts.

Font

The font name currently selected.

Text

Text box in which you type the text that is to be used in the scene.

A whole set of special characters is available for the Get -> Text command. To access them, type a backslash (\) followed by the ID number (four digits are required) in this text box. For example, in the Futura Medium font, the @ character can be used by typing \0064.

Slant

Angle or slant (as in italics) for the font in degrees.
