2. Position the object in one of the four windows.
3. Choose the Effect -> Symmetry command.
The Symmetry dialogue box is displayed.
4. Select the plane or set a specific plane equation.
5. Click Ok to accept the settings or Cancel to exit the dialogue box.
The value in either x, y, or z, which is thought of as the surface normal, is always perpendicular to the surface plane. For example, a value of 1 in x mirrors upon the x-axis; a positive normal in the x direction produces a symmetrical duplicate in this vector direction.
