I. Features

II. INSTALLATION 
	
	Note:   Once the diskette is prepared, insert it into drive A
		Makes sure that the Microsoft Windows 95 TCP/IP-32 is 
		running for your network.
	PART.A
        II.1(a) Click  Windows95  "Start" button.
	   .1(b) Click  "Run" button.
	   .1(c) Type  A:\SETUP.EXE
	   .1(d) Clink  "OK"

        II.2  REBOOT:  After PART A of the installation process is complete your PC should 
		be given time to reboot. 
	PART.B
        II.3 Load "Control Panel".
            .3 (b) Double click on "Network" icon.
            .3 (c) In the list box, if you see "Xlink NFS for Windows 95", ignore the following steps and click               on cancel.
            .3.(d) Click on "Add" button.
            .3.(e) Select "Client"  item in "Select Network Component Type"  dialog box.
            .3.(f) Click on "Add" button again.
            .3.(g) Select "Xlink Technology, Inc." in "Manufacturers"  list box.
            .3.(h) Click on "OK" button.

        II.4. REBOOT:  After PART B of the installation process is complete reboot your PC again.

III.  Potential Installation Problems

	Users will need to remove earlier Xlink NFS or other NFS applications.

IV. LOGON BOX

       IV.1.(a) Enter user name and password.
	 .1.(b) Click "OK"
	 .1.(c) Enter Xlink NFS Client password
	 .1.(d) Click "OK" 

V. HOW to Define Host

	In order to mount an NFS Drive you must define the host.

        V.1.(a)  Click icon "OMNI-NFS 95"
	  .1.(b)  Double-Click on "Hostedit" icon.
	  .1.(c)  Click  "New": Put in Host Name, Put in Host Address
	  .1.(e)  Click  "Next" for "Hostedit NFS Server", answer questions.
	  .1.(f)  Click  "Next" for "Authentication" & "NFS Lock" answer questions.
	  .1.(g)  Click  "Next" for "PCNFSD", answer questions as required.
	  .1.(h)  Click  "Finish"
	  .1.(i)  Click  "Exit."

VI. How to mount an NFS drive

	There are three alternative methods for mounting the NFS Drive(s) 
	Windows 95 Explore, Windows 95 Tools or using Xlink's NFS UI.

1. MOUNTING with EXPLORER

        VI.1.(a) Click the "Network Neighborhood" icon that appears on 
		  the desktop.  
	   .1.(b) Double Click   "Network Neighborhood", 
	   .1.(c) Double Click   "Entire Network."  
		
		  The windows should display NFS servers entered into 
		  HOSTEDIT in the installation directory.  
	      
	   .1.(d) Double click on the specific NFS server you wish to mount 
		  a list of exported filesystems will be displayed.  
	   .1.(e) Select the file systems that you wish to mount.  
	   .1.(f) The password & user name entered in Xlink Logon Box will be used for                  
		  Authentication check, if not successful, an authentication 
		  Box will be prompted.  
	   .1.(g) Double click the exported file systems brings up a window 
		  displaying the contents of that file systems.

2. MOUNTING with TOOLS MENU of EXPLORER
	
        VI.2.(a) Select "Map Network Drive"
	   .2.(b) Select which drive to be redirected (mapped, mounted)
	   .2.(c) Type remote path to be mounted or select from history list.
	   .2.(d) Press "OK" button.

	Note1:  The password & user name entered in Xlink Logon Box will be 
		used for Authentication check, if not successful, an 
		authentication Box will be prompted.

    Note2:  The syntax of remote path: \\server_name\mount_path.
		you should use forward slash ('/') in mount path.  
		The first forward slash may be omitted.

3. MOUNTING with XLink NFS 95 UI (using NFS 95 Help)
        VI.3.(a)  Click the Windows 95 "Start" button
	   .3.(b)  Click the "Program" button
	   .3.(c)  Click the "Xlink-NFS 95"  icon
	   .3.(d)  Click the "NFS 95" icon
	   .3.(e)  Click the "Help" button
	   .3.(f)  Click the help file "Define Drive" button: follow instructions.      
	   .3.(g)  Click the "Define Drive" button: follow as instructed.    
	   .3.(h)  Click the green hot-linked "Mount Button":  follow instructions.
	   .3.(i)  Click the "Mount Button":  follow as instructed.

VII. How to mount an NFS Printer

        Under Windows 95, click the "Add Printer" icon  from the Printers
        menu in the Windows 95 Print Manager. Select the "NETWORK PRINTER"
        in the ADD PRINTER WIZARD box and then press "NEXT". The dialog box
        will prompt you to enter the path and name of a printer in the Printer
        field, or you can use "Browse" to select a printer from the Entire Network
        field.

        When the printer has been selected, click on OK. You may be prompted to
        select a driver for the printer, if one is not currently installed on the
        network. The connected printer will appear as the default printer on the
        Print Manager Toolbar.
