On page 16 of the wcExchange manual, the second bullet discusses the
"network directory" which is referenced in the setup program as the
"shared directory". This directory must be created by the system
administrator prior to running the wcExchange setup program "Network
Setup" option. The directory created should be accessible by all
machines which will be running wcExchange, and should also contain the
wcsrv.dll file which is installed by default within the Wildcat! home
directory.

The purpose of a shared directory is to allow for easy updating of
workstation machines. In the future, should an update occur, all of
the machines on the network can be updated without having to manually
update each one separately. This provides a safe and easy way to
install upgrades of wcExchange in the future.

Although the Wildcat! home directory can easily be used as a "shared"
directory. It is not appropriate for a secure network environment where
the base Wildcat! data files could easily be violated if security is not
properly configured. Although read access must be available to all
machines, write access is not necessary. This directory is used by the
workstation machines in a read-only fashion, and will not be written to
by wcExchange.
