Product Highlights

ServerStor includes the following software components:

- Client/server tape backup solution automates your tape backup
process for Novell 3.1x and 4.x environments, including support
  for NetWare Directory Services (NDS).

- Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) continually monitors
available disk space on the server and offers a secondary data
storage strategy for up to 2GB of data. (It supplements,
  not replaces, your backup system.)

Novell NetWare 4.1 server to provide Instant Recovery and
data protection for a maximum of 50 users on a NetWare 3.x
  and 4.1 servers.

_______________
Getting Started

To get started using a ServerStor component, you need to perform the
installation procedure. Each component has a separate installation
process. You can start by using one component and then install the
others based on your storage management needs.

You can get the ServerStor product from the computer store. Or
you can download the product from our BBS (408/988-4004).

The files you need to download are listed below:

LICENSED
---------------------------
SS20001.ZIP SS20006.ZIP
SS20002.ZIP SS20007.ZIP
SS20003.ZIP SS20008.ZIP
SS20004.ZIP SS20009.ZIP
SS20005.ZIP UNZIP-D.TXT

The LANtegrity and NetSpace components are installed at the server.
To install these components, the NetWare volume on which they reside
must be mounted on the server you are installing them.

To install LANtegrity, at the server console type:
     LOAD <path> \LANTEG\INSTALL.NLM

To install NetSpace, at the server console type:
     LOAD <path> \NETSPACE\SERVER\AVINST.NLM

ServerStor NLM tape backup installs from a Windows client. Execute
SETUP.EXE to install.

Decompressing Your Files:
------------------------
Use PKUNZIP -d to decompress the ServerStor product files
into a directory on your hard drive or server. These files
are automatically copied into the appropriate directory
structure when you unzip them.

Validating Your Files:
---------------------
Included in the files you downloaded is the Validate program
(version 2.0.1). Validate is a file-authentication program that
you can use to check program files for signs of tampering.
Validate uses two methods of generating Cyclic Redundancy Checks
(CRC's), and then displays the information so you can compare
these statistics against the "known value" for the program files.
The dual CRC checking provides a high degree of security.
The known value you use for validation is usually provided by the
author of the program, or you may receive it from a trusted
information database. You can find the statistics for
this product in the file UNZIP-D.TXT.

To confirm that a program file has not been tampered with, run the
Validate program and then record the validation data produced.
Compare this data against the file statistics the program author has
specified. If the information matches, most likely the program
has not been modified since McAfee put the files online.

To run VALIDATE, enter the following command:

     VALIDATE <path spec>

where <pathspec> is the name of a directory and file. (The
wildcard characters, "*" and "?", can be used when specifying
<pathspec>.)

The VALIDATE program displays the following information:

     <name of directory>
name of file (starting at row 1)
extension of file (starting at row 10)
size of file (starting at row 15)
date of file (starting at row 25)
time of file (starting at row 35)
check method 1 (starting at row 44)
check method 2 (starting at row 51)
     SAMPLE TXT 12345678 01-01-80 12:01a 1A2B 3C4D
     <number> file(s) have been validated.

Starting the Install Programs:
-----------------------------
To help you quickly install and begin using the product, we've included
an online "Getting Started" guide that you can use to supplement each
component's installation process. This guide gives you the system
requirements for each component, step-by-step procedures for you to
follow as you perform the installation procedures, as well as a
checklist to get you started with the basic functions. Before you
install, we recommend that you review the installation requirements
for each component provided in "Getting Started."

To get the location of the installation programs and review the
procedures follow the steps below:

   *  Start the Acrobat Reader.

NOTE: If you do not already have the Acrobat Reader, you can
download it from the McAfee home page located at www.mcafee.com.
Once you arrive at the home page, just select 'Download McAfee,'
'Download McAfee Product,' and get the file ACROREAD from the
utility area. Then run ACROREAD.EXE and follow the instructions
on the screen to install the reader.

   *  Open the GETSTART.PDF file.
