What's New in this Version
Features mentioned in the manual that are not part of TinyTERM
Changes from older versions of TinyTERM

--------------------------
What's New in This Version
--------------------------

All new features are included in the Windows components of TinyTERM.

The DOS component (TSR) of TinyTERM does not support any of the new
features found in Version 3.0, but is included to support DOS users
those who require the TSR feature of TinyTERM. The DOS version will
still use .SYS and .CON files.

New Feature Descriptions:

Windows installation program to install both DOS and
     Windows components of TinyTERM

DOS based installation to install the DOS component of TinyTERM

     ICONect - icon based connectivity
     TAP (Term APplication file) support
Under Windows, all configuration and communication settings are
now stored in TAP files. The .SYS, .INI, and .CON files only
apply to TinyTERM DOS. This allows .TAP files to be portable
        between TinyTERM users.

When installing Version 3.0, if a previous version of TinyTERM
is found, the installation program can convert existing .CON
and .SYS files to .TAP files.

When saving settings, Choosing Save As... from the File menu
allows the user to specify the new name for the .TAP file.
A checkbox called Save to Icon can be checked and TinyTERM
will create an Icon in the Program Manager group. Clicking on
Icon starts TinyTERM with the settings from the .TAP file.

Any user of TinyTERM version 3.0 can exchange .TAP files with
another 3.0 user and all settings and configuration settings
        are included.

     Auto-Login
TinyTERM can perform autologin by entering username and password
under Configure|Login. The login strings are saved in the .TAP file
and can be manually edited using the login string syntax in the
        TERM script language.

New Command Line option accepts URL
Using -w on the command line allows TinyTERM to accept a URL
as a host name. This is useful if you are using WWW browsers
and want to use TinyTERM as a helper application. To setup
TinyTERM as the helper, in your web browser software, configure
the telnet application as TinyTERM and include the -w switch.
        An example:
In Netscape select Options | Preferences...
in the Telnet application field enter:
           c:\tt\ttem.exe -w

Features that are new to many TinyTERM users:

        IBM 3151 Terminal Emulation

        Code Page Support

        Visual Keyboard Mapper

Emulation size can be set in Emulation Dialog box

Menubar and Ribbon bar can be set on or off

--------------------------------------------------------------
Features mentioned in the manual that are not part of TinyTERM
--------------------------------------------------------------

TinyTERM is part of the TinyTERM Series of products. Some features
that are included in other products in the TinyTERM Series are not
included in This version of TinyTERM. Some of these features are
documented in the User's Guide, but do not apply to this version.
The HELP file contains complete documentation on TinyTERM.
The features not included in this version are:

   Ribbon Bar
The ribbon bar does not have a Transfer button.

   File Transfer
This version does not contain the Async file transfer
capabilities covered on pages 4-24 of the User's Guide.

   Modem Dialer
TinyTERM does not automatically dial modems. Modem dialing
can be accomplished using the manual dialing method described
in appendix A of the User's Guide.

If you find that you need these features, call Century Software
to upgrade to TinyTERM Plus or TinyTERM Pro.

---------------------------------------
Changes from older versions of TinyTERM
---------------------------------------

     Communications dialog box
When closing the communications dialog box, the OK button no
longer connects by default. The OK button keeps all settings
and closes the dialog box. To connect, either choose the connect
button in the dialog box or click the connect button on the
ribbon bar. This feature is useful for users who wish to
create a configuration file but do not want to connect every
time they change the communications settings.

     Keyboard Mapper
Keyboard settings can be saved as "Schemes". A scheme can
be activated by selecting the Keyboard setup and choosing
a scheme from the list box. Schemes are included for several
popular applications. New schemes can be added to the file
KEYBOARD.DAT by entering a new name in the list box and
choosing the EDIT button to display the keyboard mapper
         and visually mapping the keyboard.
