TO INSTALL:
===========
1. extract the files with a long-file-names capable unzipping
   utility to a temporary directory

2. three files and two directories should be made in the temp
   dir you extracted to:

     The X Files
-- directory with the theme files in it
     Windows
-- directory with the screen savers in it
     readme.txt
       -- this info file
     The X Files.theme
-- theme file set to use the noisey screen saver
The X Files (with silent saver).theme
-- theme file set to use the silent screen saver

   - move the two screen saver files in the Windows directory
to the directory on your system where Windows95 was
   installed, usually C:\Windows\
   - move the two theme files (*.theme) to your Plus! themes
   directory, usually C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\
   - move the directory with the theme files to your Plus!
   themes directory

3. use the Desktop Themes control panel to apply one of the
two themes to your computer. the one labeled as silent
uses a silent UFO screen saver. the one that's just
   called The X Files.theme uses a noisey "breathing X"
screen saver. choose which you like

sources:

wallpaper: some web site; can't remember; added some black to
make the dimensions right for a desktop
icons: the My Computer and Network Neighborhood icons
came from a generous MSN member; the Recycle Bin
were found on the web somewhere
cursors: i made them all
sounds: found on the web as well, with the exception of the
menu sounds, which came from the Mystery Theme that
ships with Plus!, and the minimize/maximize/restore
           sounds, which i made myself
savers: i don't remember where i found the breathing X one,
the ufo saver was found at www.windows95.com, but
the one info file that came with it didn't say who
           made it

if anyone wants to claim responsibility for creating any of
it, fine. i'm sure you did, since i didn't.

i know the recycle bin icons and some of the sounds aren't
very good; please please please send me improvements if you
make them, or suggestions if you have them. i release this
theme into the public domain, you can do whatever you want
with this stuff, except sell it for profit. that's FOX tv's
job! all the images and sounds presented are ultimately
copyrights, trademarks, copymarks or traderights of FOX tv.
