1. WHAT IS TRANSEND CONNECTORWARE IMPORT?
=========================================

Transend ConnectorWare Import for cc:Mail enables you to import cc:Mail
messages from your Inbox, Drafts folder, other Folders and Bulletin
Boards into your Microsoft Exchange default message store (e.g.
Personal Folders).

2. NEW FEATURES
===============

The following features have been incorporated in this release version.

1. Bulletin Boards may be "Updated". Only unread messages in a selected
   bulletin board are downloaded. If Microsoft Exchange has previously
   created the same bulletin board folder (from a previous execution of
   import bulletin boards), that bulletin board folder is updated with
   the unread messages. To use this feature, select Update Bulletin
   Boards from the Tools menu on Microsoft Exchange.

2. In addition, since available bulletin board names cannot be
   downloaded from cc:Mail without changing security, a new strategy
   for listing, storing, and selecting bulletin boards has been added.
   For Bulletin Board update mentioned in #1 above, the default list of
   bulletin boards displayed are all selected. To update Microsoft
   Exchange with unread messages from the selected group of bulletin
   boards, click "Begin".

3. To modify this list of default bulletin boards, click "Edit list..."
   and dialog is display for the purpose of creating a list of default
   bulletin boards. The default list is directly constructed from the
   list of available bulletin boards. The list of available bulletin
   boards can be added to and deleted from.

3. REQUIREMENTS
===============

Minimum Hardware Requirements
-----------------------------
Transend ConnectorWare Import for cc:Mail minimum hardware requirements
are the same as Microsoft Exchange. Import runs on a minimum of 6
megabytes (MB) of RAM, and 10 MB of hard disk space (for the temporary
files). However, it is recommended that you have at least 8 MB of RAM
for good performance. 360k of available conventional memory is also
required.

Software Requirements
---------------------
1. Transend ConnectorWare Import relies on the latest version of
   cc:Mail export.exe (version 5.12, dated 1994 or later) which is
   included with this version of ConnectorWare. If you have an older
   version of export.exe, make sure to remove it from your path.

2. Transend ConnectorWare Import for cc:Mail requires the export.pif
   file in your \windows\pif directory. If this file is not there,
   you'll need to re-run the Setup Program (Transend ConnectorWare for
   cc:Mail Installation), to make sure this file is copied to your
   \windows\pif directory.

3. Transend ConnectorWare Import for cc:Mail requires about 50 bytes
   of free environment space to set its variable. In rare cases a
   system may not have enough free environment space, the cc:Mail
   Import program will display an error message.

   To specify the environment size:
   --------------------------------
   (1) In your CONFIG.SYS file, add this line:
       SHELL=COMMAND /E:nnnn
       where nnnn is the initial environment size in bytes.

       NOTE: You have to shut down and restart your computer for the
       changes in config.sys to take effect.

   (2) An alternate method to change the environment size without
       having to reboot the system is to modify the memory property
       of the export.pif file in your \windows\pif directory. Run
       Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate the export.pif file in
       \windows\pif directory, highlight export.pif and click the
       right mouse button, select properties command from the menu,
       select memory tab, change the initial environment size.

       NOTE: Do not change anything else in the pif file. Especially
       leave "Close on Exit" selected (checked). Unselecting "Close
       on Exit" WILL cause your SYSTEM TO HALT whenever cwimport is
       executed.

4. INSTALLATION
===============

Transend ConnectorWare Import for cc:Mail is installed automatically
when you installed the cc:Mail service.

5. HOW TO USE TRANSEND CONNECTORWARE IMPORT?
============================================

In Microsoft Exchange tools menu, locate the [cc:Mail Service Tools]
sub-menu. To import cc:Mail folders, select [Import cc:Mail
Folders...]. To import cc:Mail bulletin boards, select [Import
cc:Mail Bulletin Boards...].

The next screen to appear is the dialog box for selecting folders
to be imported or for specifying a bulletin board to import.
Follow the instructions on the dialog where it is labelled
[Instructions].

6. KNOWN PROBLEMS & ISSUES
==========================

1. If you make changes to your cc:Mail Service configuration while
   the Microsoft Exchange client is running, you will need to exit
   and restart the client for the changes to fully take effect.
   Several problems can arise if this step is skipped including not
   being able to access the Address Book and not being able to use
   the Import cc:Mail Folders and Bulletin Boards functions.

2. Cannot import MAC attached files.

3. Draft messages imported from cc:Mail have the "Delivery receipt
   requested" and "Read receipt requested" set as the default
   properties.
