Setup and Inetd

After a typical installation, there will be an Inetd icon in Control Panel.
If you do not have system administrator priviliges, the Setup program will
not install Inetd and the icon will not appear.

eXceed X Server

To maximize performance, click on the Desktop icon in the Windows NT Control
Panel and uncheck the FULL DRAG mode option.

If the FULL DRAG option is on, eXceed will defer repainting until after the
drag operation has been completed. If you want immediate repaints, place
the following into the WIN.INI file:

	[exceed]
	FullDrag=0

If you use XDM to connect to a Univel host and you experience problems
connecting, place the following into the WIN.INI file:

	[exceed]
	NoDelayOnMap=1

If you are running eXceed in Multiple Window Mode and terminate a client by
using the End Task button in the Windows NT Task List, it will terminate
ALL clients and the server. To terminate a single client, use the method
you would normally use to terminate that client or select Close from the
Client's Control Menu.

Launch Pad

Launch Pad's Virtual Desktop facility is not able to track activity in a
protected subsystem window. For example, when a command prompt window in
windowed mode is sized, the Virtual Desktop window does not reflect the
change. Presently, command prompt windows that are running Posix, OS/2,
DOS or NT console applications cannot be tracked by Launch Pad.
Essentially, Launch Pad cannot track any command prompt window.

Launch Pad is unable to process button events when the focus is switched to
and from a protected subsystem window. For example, if the shift plus left
mouse button combination brings up a menu and this combination is toggled
while in a command prompt window, Launch Pad will not be able to bring up
the menu. Similarly, if the shift key is depressed while a command prompt
window has the focus and you then press the left mouse button on the desktop,
the shift action is not seen by Launch Pad and consequently the menu will not
pop up. To bring up the menu you will have to repeat the shift button press
combination on the desktop.

The Configuration Builder, Settings dialog has had the automatic
configuration section removed. The configuration is always reloaded when the
builder exits unless it is cancelled.

eXceed/Xpress

This version of eXceed/Xpress contains new functionality which is dependent
on the version of your Xpress/Host software. eXceed/Xpress will work with
older versions of Xpress/Host. The new Xpress/Host functionality is
available as of protocol version 1.5. If you are running an older version
of Xpress/Host, contact Hummingbird Communications to determine the
availability of protocol version 1.5 software for your host.

To determine the version of your Xpress/Host software, you can specify the
following command on your host:

	sxprocess -ver

Alternatively, you can also examine the eXceed/Xpress application About Box
after running sxprocess.

Some communications drivers may not support a baud rate of 14.4K. If your
modem supports 14.4K and you cannot connect with this setting, try 19.2K.
Some modems will automatically switch down to 14.4K. If this does not
work, select 9600.

TN3270

The file transfer Send and Receive dialog boxes have a new option:

	Send Clear Before Invoke

By default this option is checked. The option will cause a clear command
to be sent to the host prior to starting the file transfer.
