The information in this ReadMe file addresses issues concerning the current release of Now Up-to-Date.

NOTE: Importing data, other than from a text file, is limited in this release to contacts. Call Now Software at (800) 237-2078 for your free upgrade to enable the importing of calendar information from other applications, or download the file over the Internet (ftp.nowsoft.com/nowsoft).

		 	Address Book

Columns
Make sure the left most column in the Address Book contains data. If it does not, the alphabet tabs will not display contact information.

Edit commands
Copy and Clear are the only Edit commands available in the Address Book. The Copy command copies the contact's Name, Title, Company, Address, City, State, and Zip to the Clipboard; Clear deletes the entire contact. Press CTRL + INSERT to copy the text in a selected field.

AutoType
AutoType will not automatically fill in the address if you fill in the phone number before the address. You must go back to the original contact and enter the address for AutoType to work with subsequent contacts with the same company name.

Attachments
To attach a sound file (.wav) to a contact, click the Attach File button on the Attachments tab of the contact's information dialog box. Attaching a sound file as an OLE object may prevent it from running correctly.

Find feature
The Address Book always displays the information last found using the Find feature. To display all contacts, choose Find All from the Edit menu.

Import
Now Up-to-Date for Windows does not support the free-form comments found in Now Contact for the Macintosh. To import this data from Now Contact, first convert the comments to notes.

Import
To import data from Now Contact, you must first export it using the following fields in any order:
- FIRST, MIDDLE, LAST NAME
- COMPANY
- DEPARTMENT
- TITLE
- SALUTATION
- WORK ADDRESS, CITY, STATE, ZIP, COUNTRY
- HOME ADDRESS, CITY, STATE, ZIP, COUNTRY
- WORK, HOME, FAX PHONE
- MOBILE PHONE
- CUSTOM 1 - 8
- NOTES
- KEYWORDS
- CATEGORY

Import
Check the Include Field Headers when exporting contacts from Now Contact.

Import
You can import data to the currently open database only.

Import
After importing contacts, choose Find All from the Edit menu to see the contacts you have just imported.

Import/Export
The following information is not maintained while importing from the Macintosh or exporting to another PC:
-QuickContact
-Mark

Mail Merge
Mail Merge will not work with Word 7.0 running from a CD ROM.

Printing
HP DeskJet 540: This printer has a special slot for envelopes that orients them sideways. Use the Monarch options only.

Printing
When printing contact lists, the printout is preceded by a cover sheet. This feature cannot be turned off.

		 	Calendar

To-Dos/Calls
The status box of To-Dos and Calls is not active in the Week and Month views. To change their status in these views, double click the event to open the event's information dialog box and select the desired status from the Status drop-down list.

To-Dos/Calls
Changing the title, status, or priority of a repeating To-Do or Call in the To-Do list in the Day and Multi-Day views does not bring up the Modify Repeating Event dialog box because these changes affect only the single event.

Specials/Holidays
Do not drag a Special Event or Holiday to another day in Multi-Day view to change its date. Dragging it to the To-Do area of another day changes it to a To-Do. Dragging it to the timed area of another day changes it to an Appointment. To change the date of a Special Event or Holiday, double-click it and select the new date in the event's information dialog box.

Repeating events
Deleting future repeating events deletes both the selected event and all future ones.

Repeating events
Adding a graphic to any repeating event imported from the Macintosh version of Now Up-to-Date doesn't bring up a modify repeating event dialog. This is because repeating events are exported from the Macintosh as separate events and not as a single repeating event.

Attaching contacts
When finding and attaching contacts to an event, type the first letters of the first name, not the last name, to find the contact you desire.

Graphics
When attaching a graphic to an event, you must click OK before leaving the Attachments Tab in the event's information dialog box.

Import
To import data from Now Up-to-Date Macintosh, you must first export it using the following fields in this order:
- DATE
- START TIME
- END TIME
- TITLE
- DESCRIPTION
- TYPE
- PRIORITY
- CATEGORY
- SERVER
- DONE/NOT DONE

Import
When you import a banner from Now Up-to-Date Macintosh, the banner displays as a series of single day banners in Now Up-to-Date for Windows.

Import
When you are importing events with attached contacts from Now Up-to-Date Macintosh, import the contacts before importing the events. This allows the events to maintain their links to the contacts.

Import
When you import events with attached contacts, the contacts are added to the Address Book and assigned to an Import Contacts category that is created.

Import/Export
The following information is not maintained in importing from the Macintosh or exporting to another PC:
-Attached objects
-Graphics
-Reminder information

Export
Use a file name of eight characters with a three character extension when exporting a calendar file to a network drive that doesn't support the Windows 95 long file name.

Attachments
To attach a sound file (.wav) to an event, click the Attach File button on the Attachments tab of the event's information dialog box. Attaching a sound file as an OLE object may prevent it from running correctly.

Printing
Graphics are not printed with the calendar.
