Getting Started for Windows 95
==============================

To install SuperPrint 4.0 in Windows NT or SuperPrint 3.1x in Windows 3.x, please see below.

Installing SuperPrint
---------------------
Insert the SuperPrint CD-ROM and the AutoRun program (Welcome.Exe) runs automatically.

Installing Additional SuperDrivers
----------------------------------
Choose Start/Settings/Printers/Add Printer. When asked to choose the manufacturer and
model of your printer, choose the Have Disk... button. Assuming your CD-ROM drive is
D:, enter D:\SP40\printers. If your printer's manufacturer or your particular model
is not listed, choose one that your printer can emulate. If you install a bitmap
SuperDriver, choose FILE: as the port.

Accessing SuperDriver Options
-----------------------------
* From the Printers folder, right click the printer, choose Properties/the Details tab/Setup..., or
* From SuperQueue, choose Printer/Printer Setup..., or
* From SuperPrint Status, choose the Setup... button, or
* From an application, choose Print.../Properties. Note: options selected from an
application will not be system wide.

---------------
To make a SuperDriver the default printer, from the Printers folder, right click the printer,
and choose Set As Default.

Installing ZScript or SuperQueue Filters
----------------------------------------
If you did not install ZScript or filters in the initial install, you can re-run the setup
program. For ZScript or other filters, select Custom/Filters/Change....

What's New
----------
SuperQueue can print bitmap and PostScript files directly - no need for the originating
application. For 8-bit grayscale and 24-bit color images, the bitmap filters can perform
automatic adjustments for lightness and contrast. Check the Readme.Wri in the SuperPrint
group for more new features.

For Previous Users of SuperPrint 3.1x
=====================================

Updating Standard SuperPrint 3.1x
---------------------------------
If Standard SuperPrint 3.1x is installed in Windows 95, we suggest deinstalling it before
installing 4.0. Delete the SuperDrivers under Start/Settings/Printers: right click the
SuperDriver and choose Delete. Run the automatic deinstall program from the SuperPrint 3.1
diskette.

Using SuperPrint 3.1 "high-end" drivers
---------------------------------------
If you are running a 3.1x version of a "high-end" SuperDriver, don't deinstall it. Install
SuperPrint 4.0 and run the two versions side-by-side. Do not install the new SuperPrint
into the same directory as SuperPrint 3.1.

Spooler Settings
----------------
Windows 95 spools (queues) drivers by default. To print direct (unqueue), from the Printers
folder, right click the printer icon, choose
Properties/the Details tab/Spool Settings.../Print directly to the printer.

Insert the SuperPrint CD-ROM and from Program Manager, choose File/Run and enter
D:\SP31\DISK1\SETUP in the Command Line box. (Diskette users will need to enter A:\SETUP.)

SuperPrints, run Setup again. You can also add a SuperDriver by following the instructions

clicking Help in the Windows Printers dialog.

Help
