 ** ZORRO **

February 9, 1995

 (MEMORY MANAGERS)
Zorro is NOT compatible with 386 Max. Make sure to make a boot disk
which does not use the 386MAX.SYS memory manager. Here is a sample
of what a boot disk may look like for DOS 6.0.

 (FILES ON FLOPPY)
AUTOEXEC.BAT
AUTOEXEC.UMB
CHKSTATE.SYS
COMMAND.COM
CONFIG.SYS {ALL OF THESE FILES CAN BE COPIED DIRECTLY
CONFIG.UMB            FROM YOUR DOS DIRECTORY TO THE FLOPPY.}
EDIT.COM
EMM386.EXE
HIMEM.SYS
MEM.EXE
MEMMAKER.EXE
MEMMAKER.HLP
MEMMAKER.INF
MEMMAKER.STS
SIZER.EXE

 (AUTOEXEC.BAT)
@ECHO OFF
SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 T4                    {SOUND BLASTER INIT STRING}
PROMPT $P$G
LH /L:1,27984 C:\BIN\MSCDEX.EXE /D:SONY_000  {YOUR CD DRIVER MAY BE DIFFERENT}
CLS

 (CONFIG.SYS)
DEVICE=A:\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=A:\EMM386.EXE RAM HIGHSCAN D=64       {NEEDED FOR VIDEO PLAYBACK}
BUFFERS=20,0
FILES=30
DOS=UMB
LASTDRIVE=E
FCBS=4,0
DOS=HIGH
STACKS=0,0
DEVICEHIGH /L:1,38256 =C:\DEV\SLCD.SYS /D:SONY_000 /B:340 /M:15 /V /C
                       {YOUR CD DRIVER MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN THE ABOVE.}

 (SVGA PROBLEMS)
Some video cards are automatically recognized by Smacker and no VESA
driver is needed. Other cards such as the ATI MACH32 need to have a VESA
driver loaded before the video can be played. If Smacker doesn't
recognize your video card, you will get an error message stating the
Smacker can't set an SVGA driver. Simply run your VESA driver for your
video card before you load Zorro.

 (UPDATES)

** DON'T READ ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT CLUES FOR EACH LEVEL. **

 (MINES #1)
Zorro starts this level on the upper left hand portion of the TOTAL map.
Only one portion of the total map is displayed on the screen at any
given time; usually about 50 screens equal an entire level. Maps are
basically divided in to an 8x8 area. (8 screens across & 8 screens down.)
The Exit is in the lower right hand corner of the entire map.

 (MINES #2)
Zorro starts this level in the lower left corner and the Exit is in the
upper right hand corner.

 (DESERT #1 & DESERT #2)
No hints needed, simply avoid spears and vultures.

 (FORT #1)
Zorro starts this level basically in the middle of the map on the bottom
level. The exit is at the top of the map. Canons will shoot Zorro when
he walks on certain planks. "Leaps of Faith" are common here, as well as
throughout many of the other levels. Not all planks that are shot at by
canons mean that it is the wrong way to go; Sometimes you just have to
jump off the plank before you get shot.

 (FORT #2)
Zorro starts this level on the top floor in the middle of the level. Move
Zorro to the furthest point on the left side. Then go down as far as
Zorro can go. Then to the right as far as Zorro can go. The exit is on the
bottom level in the middle, but the only way to get to it is from the
right side.

 (TUNNELS)
Zorro starts in the upper right hand corner of this level, and the Exit
is in the upper left hand corner of the map; Zorro must go all the way
down and then as far to the left as possible, and then finally upwards
as far as he can go. Beware of exploding bombs triggered by pressure plates.
To get to the exit, you must flip the flipper in front of the exit so that
you can get a running start and jump from it to the exit.

 (JUNGLE)
Zorro starts this level in the bottom right and the Exit is in the top
left. Beware of Man-Eating plants. The only way to get by them is to run
and jump past their vines. The Path to follow here is to go up the right side
of the map and then straight across the top to the exit on the left.
