Administrator Program Error and Status Messages
-----------------------------------------------

This file lists error messages for the Microsoft Mail Administrator program,
ADMIN.EXE, in alphabetical order.
System messages for returned mail are documented in the Microsoft Mail
Administrator's Guide under "System Log" in Appendix B, "Log Files."

Address no longer valid. User or postoffice no longer exists.
The user or the postoffice has been deleted from the mail system.

ADMIN is already running on this postoffice.
You cannot have two copies of the Administrator program running on the
same postoffice. The reported mailbox name tells you who else is running
the program. If this message occurs and you are certain that no one else
is running the program, the FLAG.GLB file could be locked open, preventing
you from running it. To determine how to find and close files that are
locked open, see your network operating system documentation. After
unlocking the file, try to run the Administrator program again.

Bad command or file name
This command or filename needs to include a search path to the executable
files subdirectory. For more information on LAN-Manager compatible network
installations or Novell network installations, see Chapter 2, "Preparing
to Use Mail on the Network."

Cannot add local postoffice name to external list.
You cannot add your own postoffice to the list of external postoffices.

Cannot change self to User access.

system without an administrator and is not permitted.

Cannot delete local postoffice.
You cannot delete your own postoffice. You can only delete external
   postoffices.

   other users.

Use the Remote Regenerate command to rebuild the remote address file and
then try the operation again. If the problem persists, make sure there is
still a connection to the server. Also check that the server is not full.
For Novell users, check that the user has sufficient rights to access the
server. For more information on user rights, see Chapter 2, "Preparing
to Use Mail on the Network."

   to a directory view.

If the postoffice data files are on a drive other than drive M and you
are not using the advanced security features, you must use the -d
command line option to specify the data files drive. The data files must
be in the current directory of the drive indicated by the -d command
line option. See Chapter 5, "Starting the Administrator Program," for
information on the -d command line option.

Direct postoffices via a MS-DOS drive do not require Setup.
Only postoffices defined as "Direct via Modem" or "Direct via X.25"
require you to select Setup and specify connection options such as the

do not select Import for the directory server postoffice.
