         [EPRO_NIF]
         ; PROTOCOL.INI section for the Intel EtherExpress(TM) PRO Adapter

         IOADDRESS = 0x300
         DRIVERNAME = EPRO$

   General Installation
   --------------------

      1. Run the appropriate Microsoft Lan Manager setup for computer you
         are setting up. (DOS, OS/2 or OS/2 Server). When prompted for the
         LAN adapter driver, select "Other Driver" (the EtherExpress PRO
         driver isn't included on the Lan Manager disk) and insert the PRO
         driver disk, select the EtherExpress PRO driver and follow the
         directions.

      2. When completed, reboot your computer in order for changes to take
         affect.

   Hints and Tips
   --------------

      1. Parameters for the PROTOCOL.INI file:

         DRIVERNAME: This is the one required parameter. See example at
         top of this document for syntax.

         IOADDRESS: This is the base I/O address for the PRO adapter. Use
         SoftSet2 to identify the I/O address the board is set at. If you
         are using multiple boards in one machine, make sure you specify the
         correct IOADDRESS for each board.

         INTERRUPT: This is the system interrupt that the adapter uses. If
         a value is specified and it is different from what the card is
         currently set to, this parameter will OVERRIDE whatever is in
         the EEPROM.

      2. Sample PROTOCOL.INI for LAN Manager:

            [PROTMAN]
            DRIVERNAME = PROTMAN$
            DYNAMIC = YES
            PRIORITY = NETBEUI

            [NETBEUI_XIF]
            Drivername = netbeui$
            SESSIONS = 6
            NCBS = 12
            BINDINGS = "EPRO_NIF"
            LANABASE = 0

            [EPRO_NIF]

            ; PROTOCOL.INI section for the Intel EtherExpress(tm) PRO Adapter

            IOADDRESS = 0x300
            DRIVERNAME = EPRO$
