   Configuring many adapters with the same settings

      To use the identical configuration on multiple adapters, save the
      configuration of one adapter and load the saved configuration file
      onto another adapter.

      When you do this, you're only saving or loading the hardware
      configuration. To complete the installation, you must install the
      network drivers on each computer.

   To save the configuration
   =========================

      1. Insert the Configuration disk into a drive,
	  and switch to that drive.

      2.  Type:   SOFTSET2 /SAVE=filename

	  For example:  SOFTSET2 /SAVE=A:\EPROCONF.CFG

      Or, you can type SOFTSET2 and select SAVE/LOAD CONFIGURATION TO FILE
      then SAVE CONFIGURATION TO FILE. SoftSet2 asks you to specify where to
      save the file.

   To load a saved configuration onto an adapter
   =============================================

      1. Put the adapter in the computer according the
	  instructions on page 3 of the Installation Guide.

      2. Copy the configuration file you want to use onto
	  the computer or onto a floppy disk.

      3. Insert the Configuration disk into a drive,
	  switch to that drive, and type:
	  SOFTSET2 /LOAD=filename

	  For example:
	  SOFTSET2 /LOAD=A:\EPROCONF.CFG

      Or, you can type SOFTSET2 and select SAVE/LOAD CONFIGURATION
      FROM FILE then LOAD CONFIGURATION FROM FILE. SoftSet2 asks you
      to specify the location of the configuration file you want to use.

   Hints and Tips
   ==============

      1. To load a configuration file without launching SoftSet2, at the
	 command line, substitute "SOFTSET2" with the module "ISS2" for
	 EtherExpress(TM) PRO/10 adapters or "ISS1" for
	 EtherExpress(TM) 16 adapters.

	 For example:
	 ISS2 /LOAD=A:EPROCONF.CFG

      2. Different versions of SoftSet2 use different file formats to save
	 the configuration file. If SoftSet2 doesn't recognize the
	 configuration file, rebuild the configuration file with the
	 version of SoftSet2 you are currently using.

      3. If you are receiving a message that SoftSet2 can't load the
	 configuration onto the adapter you have, and you have verified
	 the version of SoftSet2 as mentioned in step 2 above, then you
	 may be trying to load a configuration that was saved for a
	 different type of the EtherExpress PRO/10 adapter.

	 To verify your configuration file matches the adapter you're
	 trying to configure:

	 - make sure that the adapter has the same number of network
	   connectors, and

	 - make sure that the "82595TX version" numbers match by running
	   SoftSet2 and selecting VIEW ADAPTER CONFIGURATION.
