SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

To set up Internet Valet, its documents and drivers, follow these
steps. Full setup requires about 5 MB of disk space.

1.  Start Windows.

2.  Insert the Internet Valet Setup Disk into your floppy drive.

3.  From the Windows Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.

4.  Enter the name of the floppy drive you are using followed by
    "\SETUP" (e.g., A:\SETUP), then choose OK.

5.  The Setup Program will display a Welcome dialog where you will
    be given three options. They are:

    (1) Install - Click this button to begin the setup process.
    (2) Help    - Click this button to get more information before
                  you begin.
    (3) Exit    - Click this button to cancel the setup process.

6.  In the next dialog box, you can examine or change any of
    the following options.

    (1) Location Option:
        Specifies the location on your hard disk to install
        Internet Valet; the default is \INTERNET on the drive where
        Windows is installed.

    (2) Communications Options:
        Specifies the modem that you will use and the port it is
        connected to.

    (3) Installation Option:
        The Trumpet Winsock Option (Yes/No)
                For Trumpet Winsock 2.0 Rev. F, TCP/IP stack
                and trumpet.doc and trumpet.txt.

    (4) The bottom part of this dialog box shows the amount of
        disk space you need to install the files that you have
        chosen and the amount of disk space currently available.

7.  If Trumpet Winsock is being installed, you need to exit Windows  
    and restart your computer after you register with PSI.

8.  Choose the Continue button to start the installation.

9.  After Setup has completed the installation procedure, it will display
    a sign-on screen. For help click the Help button. To begin the sign-up
    process, click the Next button to display the Choose Service screen.

10. There are three setup options. The text box explains each option. To
    register for a PSI Internet account the PSI InterRamp 14-day Free Trial
    option is already selected. Click the Next button to display the Internet
    Valet Sign-up Form.

11. Fill in the requested information and click the Register button. Valet
    Setup will dial an 800 number and begin the registration process.

12. You will then be offered several plans including the 14-day Trial Offer.
    Choose the plan that suits your needs and click Ok.

13. Read the information from PSI concerning your account. Click Ok when you
    are finished.

14. Select a local phone number from the list on the PSI Local Phone Number
    screen. If you need to dial a prefix or the area code be sure to make
    the correct selection. Click Next.

15. That completes your InterRamp registration. Click Ok and you are ready
    to explore the Internet.

16. Your Internet Valet launch bar will appear. It contains buttons for
    several Internet clients including a Web browser, news, mail, ftp, and
    telnet. It also has a button that displays a menu of display options. You
    can choose large or small icons, title or no title, and always on top or
    not. You can place the bar anywhere on the desk top and it will remember
    that position between sessions. To display the title of a button, just
    rest the mouse cursor over it and a small text window will display the
    title.

17. Click an Internet client button to connect to the Internet. You can have
    several Internet clients running at the same time. You can add other
    clients or applications to the launch bar just by dragging the .exe
    file from the file manager. To delete a button, change the title, or
    change the icon, click the button with right mouse button and choose
    the desired action from the popup menu.
