Thank you for ordering the CompuServe Information Manager for Windows -
WinCIM(sm).

Although a brief manual is included with this version, a rich context-
sensitive Help feature can also be accessed from any area of WinCIM
by hitting the F1 key.

You can obtain information on the current status of WinCIM by accessing
the GO WINCIM area on CompuServe. This area contains information
related to the status of WinCIM. You can also obtain help and support
through the WinCIM Support Forum (GO WCIMSUPPORT). This forum is
devoted to WinCIM and is staffed by representatives from CompuServe's
Customer Service department.

WinCIM 1.0 Information:

* An electronic version of the CompuServe Directory, which provides a
summary description of each of the more than 1,700 services on
CompuServe, is available from the WinCIM Help pulldown menu. Once
you find a service you are interested in, just click on the Service Name
and WinCIM will "GO" to that service.

* Two special features on the edit pulldown menu, "Copy To" and "Paste
From," make it easy to compose mail and forum messages using text from
online articles, messages already in the member's in basket or filing
cabinet, or from text files on the member's disk.

* A "Copy Original" button on the CompuServe Mail envelope (recipent
list) can be used when replying to Mail messages. This features allows
you to send your reply to everyone on the original distribution list.

* WinCIM "looks" at the text in menus and articles and determines if the
data is column data. If WinCIM detects that the information contains
column data, it will switch into a fixed font (so the information will
line up properly). You can switch between the fixed and proportional
font by choosing the "Fixed Font" option from the Edit pulldown menu (or
you can use Cntrl-T).

* Special features in WinCIM can be accessed by modifying items in
the WINCIM.INI file. See the file WC-INI.TXT in the WinCIM Support
Forum (GO WCIMSUPPORT) for additional details.

* Users of V32/V42 modems should turn off their modem's error correction
(unless you use WinCIM's terminal emulation frequently and are
experiencing bad phone connections). This will allow you to get better
data throughput. How to disable your modem's error correction should be
documented in your modem manual.

Known limitations of WinCIM Version 1.0:

* The WinCIM ribbon (button bar at the top of the window) has changed
slightly from the one shown in the help file. There is now a "Browse
Services" button on the ribbon. The Mail button now only appears if
there is mail waiting for you (to signal you have mail waiting).
Once you are online, a "disconnect" button will also appear.

* The accelerator key Cntrl-C is not working properly when viewing
articles and attempting to mark text. The pulldown menu choice does
work in this case. You can copy the text to a Mail or Forum message
using the "Copy To..." option from the Edit pulldown menu. You can also
save the text in the article to a text file using the "Save As" choice
under the File pulldown menu.

* The Portfolio report that is included in DOS CIM 2.0 is not currently
implemented. This feature is scheduled for implementation after the
release of version 1.0.

* The Favorite Places information is always maintained in alphabetical
order.

* Mail messages placed in the outbasket can not be sent by DOS CIM.

* DOS CIM's "%" syntax for address book sorting is not supported.
