        CyberMage : Darklight Awakening

(AUSTIN, TX)_If you've ever wondered what it would be
like to wield fear-inspiring, supernormal powers, then be on
the lookout this Fall for CyberMage: Darklight Awakening, by
ORIGIN Systems and award-winning RPG developer, D.W.
Bradley. This gripping new CD-ROM game presents a fusion of
comic book entertainment with cutting edge technology to
produce an immersive science-fiction adventure. CyberMage:
Darklight Awakening comes with Issue I of an exciting new
comic book series published by the Eden Matrix Press, which
not only sets up the background story of the game, but also
segues right into the action.

In the world of CyberMage, you find yourself in a dark
and violent Earth of the future, where greedy corporate
entities struggle for ultimate control over Earth's
resources. One in particular has been ruthlessly extending
its control by means of a mysterious new technology_with no
end to its expansionist aims in sight. You unwittingly
become involved in this escalating conflict when you rescue
a powerful corporate executive marked for execution. In
reward for your heroic actions, he gives you a mysterious
alien implant, the Darklight gem, which confers upon you
strange new abilities. While you struggle to master your new
powers, you begin to encounter foes who are out to stop you
at all costs. Your movement through the plot leads you to a
series of conflicts against them, as well as a final
showdown against their evil leader, NeCrom, the only other
being in possession of the alien Darklight.

CyberMage: Darklight Awakening features a stunning level
of graphic detail in the design of its multilevel, 21st
century Earth environment. In CyberMage, you explore
subterranean laboratories as well as towering city
skyscrapers, navigate your way through smog-filled slums,
attack well-armed foes in deadly battlefields, and charge
through dense 3D forests, all rendered in SVGA graphics
(also available in VGA) and seen from a first-person
perspective. CyberMage even allows players to switch
perspectives during gameplay from first-person walking to
first-person driving or flying in specialized craft. The
game is packed with pulse-racing action sequences and tons
of puzzles to solve, and includes special enhanced features
such as: full speech, dynamic weapons aiming, and an
impressive arsenal of conventional weaponry and superpower
