README.TXT file--Additional Instructions for FUNDGRAF Programs.
      ===============================================================
                      FUNDGRAF(c) by Parsons Software

INFORMATION FOR 3 1/2 INCH DISK USERS.
                  ======================================
The 3 1/2 inch disk holds over 700 K and allows both FUNDGRAF Programs
Disk A and FUNDGRAF Programs Disk B to be on the same disk. The INSTALL
procedure installs both sets of programs on the Working disk or the Hard
disk.
The second 3 1/2 inch disk holds the Fundgraf Programs Disk C and the
FUNDGRAF Data Disk. The Programs on this disk are only for use with a
Hercules Graphics Card and need not be installed if you have a IBM-type
COLOR/GRAPHICS CARD (CGA CARD). The DATA on this disk is used for ALL
the FUNDGRAF Programs. The install procedure on this disk installs
both the C Disk programs and the FUNDGRAF Data files on the Working
disk or the Hard disk.
If you used INSTALL with the second 3 1/2 inch disk then the
FUNDGRAF DATA files were copied onto the FUNDGRAF Programs sub-directory.
If you don't want the data files in the Programs sub-directory then
COPY FU*.* and COPY DSK*.* to the disk or sub-directory of your choice
and delete the old files from your working Programs sub-directory with
the DEL FU*.* and DEL DSK*.* commands. (The data files consist of
FUNAMS.DAT, FUNDGRAF.IA1, FUNDGRAF.IB1, etc. and DSKDATE.DAT ).

INSTALLING FUNDGRAF PROGRAMS ON HARD DISK
                 ==========================================
If you have a hard disk then it is recommended that you set up a sub-
directory for the FUNDGRAF programs and use the INSTALL command to install
all the FUNDGRAF programs into that sub-directory from all PROGRAM disks.
For example, to call the sub-directory FUNDS.
  1. At the C> prompt, type MD FUNDS <enter> (to make a sub-directory
                                           called FUNDS).
  2. At the C>prompt, type CD FUNDS <enter> (to change to the new sub-
                                             directory called FUNDS)
  3. Now type DIR <enter> (to see that your hard drive is in the FUNDS
sub-directory. Computer screen will show: )
                          C>\FUNDS
                          *         <DIR>
                          ** <DIR>
                           2 File(s) ######### Bytes Free
  4. Now type A: or B: <enter> (depending on whether your original
FUNDGRAF Programs disk is in A or B disk drive.)
NOTE: You must be in the FUNDS sub- directory and not in the ROOT
directory before typing A: or B:(floppy drive). If you are in your
ROOT directory the FUNDGRAF programs will be INSTALLED on your
hard disk's ROOT directory rather than the sub-directory.
  5. At the A> prompt, type INSTALL A: C: <enter> (to install
the FUNDGRAF programs to the hard disk (called C) and they will
ALL go to the sub-directory that you were in when you typed A:
at the C>prompt in step 4. Caution! If you were not in the proper
sub-directory at step 4 then they will not be in the proper sub-
directory. You CANNOT use INSTALL A: C:\sub-directory command with
the INSTALL command! (The back-slash commands are not accepted!!)

The computer screen will show the following:

    8. All the FUNDGRAF Programs are now installed on your hard disk. If
you wish to save them later then you will need to use the RECALL command to
recall them to their ORIGINAL FUNDGRAF disks. From there they can be
INSTALLed onto another disk, computer or other media. Two installation
copies of the Programs are available on the original disks. The sample data
for the FUNDGRAF programs is on a FUNDGRAF DATA DISK and can be used on
that disk or tranferred with the COPY command to any other disk. The
FUNDGRAF DATA files are all copied with two commands :
COPY FU*.* and COPY DSK*.* (data is not copy proctected.)

                           FUNDGRAF DATA DISKS
                           ===================
The FUNDGRAF DATA files are not copy protected and can be moved
to any other disk or sub-directory with the COPY command. You can copy the
FUNDGRAF data files to the same sub-directory (on a hard disk ) as your
programs or to another sub-directory (on the hard disk). You may wish to
keep your data on floppies and can copy the data to a floppy if you want.
If you start a new FUNDGRAF DATA file with the ADD-NAME program
then it will have the same names as the original FUNDGRAF DATA files so
each new FUNDGRAF DATA set (maximum of 64 funds each) must be on different
disks or on different sub-directories.

ADDING FUNDGRAF DATA TO HARD DRIVE
                    ----------------------------------
The FUNDGRAF DATA files can be copied onto a sub-directory with the
COPY command since they are not protected. It is best to use a short name
for the sub-directory since each time you want to use the data the FUNDGRAF
programs will ask where the data is and you will have to type c:\data-a
(if data is in sub-directory called DATA-A) or c:\funds\a (if data is in
2nd sub-directroy called A off 1st sub-directory called FUNDS) We recommend
short names like letters to keep later keystrokes to a minimum.
If you don't mind having the data in a sub-directory off of your
ROOT directory then type c: to go to the C drive and at the C> prompt
type \ and <enter> to get to ROOT directory. Now type MD A and you will
make a sub-directroy called A. Now type CD A and change to that sub-
directory. Now use the COPY command to copy the FUNDGRAF data files from
1 (only one!) FUNDGRAF DATA disk. The following two commands will copy
all the files. (Make sure you are in the A sub-directory first before you
type the copy commands. Use DIR to check.)
                   C>COPY A:FU*.* <enter>
                   C>COPY A:DSK*.* <enter>
If you have another FUNDGRAF data disk then copy it in the same
way to another sub-directory called B as follows:
C>\ (to go to ROOT directory )
             C>MD B (to make sub-directroy B)
             C>CD B (to change to sub-directory B)
             C>COPY A:FU*.* C:\B (to copy DATA to sub-directory B)
             C>COPY A:DSK*.* C:\B (to copy DATA to sub-directory B)
Now when the programs ask where the FUNDGRAF DATA is, you will use
the path form c:\a <enter> for disk A and c:\b for disk B, etc.

                          FUNGRAF DATA BACK-UPS
                          ---------------------
You can make backups of your data to floppy disks with the following
commands: COPY C:\A\*.* A: (copies data in C drive sub-directory A to
floppy in drive A with same names)
          or COPY C:\B\*.* A: (copy from sub-directory B)

(Note you must use separate floppies for each DATA sub-directory
copied since the names of the data files are the same.)
