This disk's root directory contains three ".zip" files:
     i386.zip, mips.zip, and alpha.zip for the Intel (i386),
Mips, and Alpha versions of Windows NT. Each contains
tape device driver files for the correspondent version
     of Windows NT.

Note: this set of Arcada Software tape device driver files
completely replaces all previous releases of Arcada Software,
Conner Software, and same named Microsoft tape device driver
     files for Windows NT.

To install these tape device driver files:

          1) Unzip the ".zip" file for the desired set of tape
device driver files (i386, mips, or alpha) to a
floppy disk. These files should all be in
the root directory of the floppy disk.

          2) Double click on the "Windows NT Setup" icon in the
             "Main" program group.

          3) Select "Add/Remove Tape Devices..." in the "Options"
             menu of Windows NT Setup.

          4) Sequentially select and "Remove" any tape devices
already installed and listed in the "Tape Devices
installed on..." box of the "Tape Device Setup"
window until you have an empty "Tape Devices
             installed on..." box.

          5) Close the "Tape Device Setup" window and close/exit
             Windows NT Setup.

          6) Shutdown and restart Windows NT.

          7) Double click on the "Windows NT Setup" icon in the
             "Main" program group.

          8) Select "Add/Remove Tape Devices..." in the "Options"
             menu of Windows NT Setup.

          9) Select "Add.." in the "Tape Device Setup" window.

         10) Open/expand the "Device:" list in the "Select Tape
             Device Option" window.

         11) Select "Other (Requires a disk from a hardware
manufacturer)" at the bottom of the "Device:" list
in the "Select Tape Device Option" window.

         12) Enter the drive/path to the floppy disk where you
copied the "disk1" and "oemsetup.inf" files and
unzipped the tape device driver files.

         13) Select "OK" in the "Insert Diskette" window.

         14) Select one of the lines in the "Choose a Tape Driver
supported by this hardware manufacturer's disk." list
in the "Select OEM Option" window; i.e., select the
description of the set of tape drives that you want
             a device driver for.

         15) Select "OK" in the "Select OEM Option" window.

         16) Select "Install" in the "Select Tape Device Option"
             window.

         17) If it appears, then select "New" in the "Windows NT
Setup" window; otherwise, enter the same drive/path
to the floppy disk that was entered in step #12 above.
IMPORTANT: always select "New" if it appears -- do NOT
             select "Current".

         18) Select "Continue" in the "Windows NT Setup" window.

The "Tape Device Setup" window will reappear with a line
item now included in the "Tape Devices installed on ..."
         list.

Repeat steps 9 to 18 for each tape device line item that
you wish to add to the "Tape Devices installed on ..."
         list.

"Add.." (reinstall -- ref. steps 9 and 10) any tape device
line items from the "Select Tape Device Option" window's
"Device:" list to the "Tape Devices installed on ..." list
that were removed in step #4 but are not now listed in the
"Tape Devices installed on ..." list. These, if any, will be
tape devices with tape device driver files that were not
replaced by the above steps (i.e., tape device driver files
that were not Arcada Software, Conner Software, or same
named Microsoft tape device driver files replaced by the
tape device driver files unzipped to the floppy disk).

Close the "Tape Device Setup" window, close/exit Windows NT
Setup, and shutdown and restart Windows NT to activate the
         changes made.
