PCTools for Windows
------------------
UnInstaller now provides total support for PC Tools for Windows
(PCTW) version 2. If you have PCTW 2, UnInstaller will now read all
of the programs in all of your desktops. Since UnInstaller needs
to read all of the programs at one time, the Uninstall feature may
take slightly longer to load than if you are using another shell.
Our thanks to Central Point Software for providing us with the
information necessary to make this modification.

If you are using PCTW 2, another menu entry will appear under the
"Options" menu heading; this entry is entitled "Show Multidesk Icons",
and it is checked (selected) by default. When this option is not
checked, UnInstaller will not display icons for each item in the
UnInstaller module.

You may choose to uncheck this feature if you wish; doing so will
improve the speed of the UnInstaller module when it is loading the
PCTW MultiDesk items; this will also decrease Windows resource
consumption if it is a problem on your system due to the large
number of PCTW MultiDesk items that you might have.

Electronic Registration
-----------------------
The UnInstaller now comes with electronic registration that allows
you to register UnInstaller FREE via your modem. If you do not
have a modem, you may also print out a fax or mail form which you
may fax to our toll-free 800 registration line or mail to us.

Please be sure to register UnInstaller today so you will be eligible
for low cost upgrades and our FREE technical support!

Dr. Watson
----------
We highly recommend that you turn off Dr. Watson before running
the UnInstaller. Dr. Watson may cause your system to run much
slower than usual and will not provide any useful information
for our technical support staff should you encounter problems.

Network Version
---------------
The Network Version of UnInstaller is licensed for use on a single
network (one server) at one time.

In order to use the Smart Decoy feature, the UnInstaller *must* be
installed on a network drive. This network drive and directory must be
accessible to all users that will be running the Smart Decoy copy of
the uninstalled application *OR* UnInstaller must be in the user's
network path.

The file SDECOY.EXE, in the UnInstaller's directory, is the Smart Decoy
launcher. If this file is deleted, renamed or moved, the Smart Decoy
feature will not be enabled.

Using UnInstaller with "screen saver" programs (such as After
Dark), anti-virus program (such as Norton's Anti Virus) and
"on-the fly" font programs (such as Adobe Type Manager):

We recommend that you unload or turn off these or similar
programs should you encounter difficulties in running the
UnInstaller. Our testing has revealed some conflicts which
may be resolved by simply unloading or turning these programs
off.

Using the 3D Options:
---------------------
If you turn on the "3D-Borders" option, you should also enable
"3D-Background." Otherwise, some of the check boxes and other
controls may not be correct in their appearance.

UnInstaller Errors
------------------
Most shell programs (including Program Manager) will allow you
to create multiple groups with the same name. While this is very
uncommon, we have found a few people that had, often by accident,
multiple groups with the same name. Unfortunately, UnInstaller
depends on unique group names to opersate propely so you will
need to use your shell to change any duplicated group names to
more unique ones.

If you have leading or trailing spaces in your group names, UnInstaller
*will* be able to read the group information correctly, but it will
*not* be able to delete an icon from the group or delete the group
file itself. This is a problem with DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) that
we have not been able to resolve. UnInstaller will identify this
problem and notify you of both the problem and the solution - simply
edit the group name (listed in the 'Properties' option settings of
your shell) and remove any leading or trailing spaces.
