        * CD-ROM VIEWER V2.0 CODED BY GOD! OF BLOBBY INTERNATIONAL*
        ***********************************************************

 *HISTORY*

We were constantly getting asked, `whats on this CD and whats on that CD`,
etc.. And everytime we needed some software, we had to search CD lists to
find which CD had the software on we wanted.
This is where CD Viewer came in, it was a rush job program - which turned
out much better than expected. We included it, on all the future Blobby
Releases - the Viewer soon became very popular. (And in a recent PC FORMAT
survey, the viewer was found to the installed on 72% of the worlds PC`s!
(Ok, that bit was a lie!))
Anyway, after using Viewer for a couple of months, listening to feedback,
moans etc, I decided it was time for an update to the viewer, and HERE IT
 IS!

 *INSTRUCTIONS*

After running the viewer you will be presented with the main menu, this menu
consists of a list of the CD`s available and the a list of available options
at the bottom of the screen.
You scroll thru the list of CD`s using the cursor up & down - this will move
the cursor bar up & down thru the listing.
To advance 1 page, or back 1 page - you can press the page up & page down.
To view a single text listing, move the cursor bar over the listing you
want to view and then press enter (or V for View).
You will then be taken to a screen, which will display the contents of the
CD that you`ve selected, some options will be displayed at the bottom -
we`ll come back to those later.
Look bottom left and you will an option that says FILTER = ON or OFF,
this is a major new feature of the viewer. If FILTER is switched ON, the
program will try and FILTER out lines of the text which don`t really need
to be viewed! Confused? Read on -

Example with the FILTER ON -

Word for Windows V3453.5535B (Welsh Sales Version) DISK [01/22]

Fox Pro for dos (spelling mistake correct version) DISK [01/05]

   xxxx etc ....

You should notice that disks 02-22 of Word and disks 02-05 of Fox Pro
have been `FILTERED' out. This makes the listing much smaller, but it still
contains all the information, ie TITLE and number of disks in the set.
Filter can be switched OFF/ON from the main menu, by pressing `O'.

To get back to the main menu, from viewing a listing, press the ESC key.

You known that pressing enter from the main menu, will display the
listing of the CD you currently have highlighted by the cursor bar.
But, you can also COPY that listing to disk and PRINT it.

To copy the currently highlighted listing, you should press 'C', you
will then be asked where you want to copy the listing to (either A: or B:)
Select your destination, insert a disk into the selected drive and then
press a key - the selected file will then be copied.
It is the same procedure for printing, but instead of pressing 'C' you
press `P` - and select which printer port you want - either LPT1: or LPT2:

You can also SEARCH the highlighted listing, by pressing 'S' - you will
be asked to enter the TEXT that you want to search for. Enter the text and
press enter, the highlighted listing will then be searched for the TEXT
  that you specify.
When the search has finished you will be took to a display which lists all
the places that the TEXT you entered has been found(if any).
(The places where the text is found, will be highlighted).

The above options View, Copy, Print & Search are all available as a BATCH
  command as-well.
BATCH - Means that the program will process one listing then the next etc.
To select the listings to be processed, you must first TAG them. And to
TAG them, you move the cursor bar over the listing to be TAGGED and press
'T' - the listing will then be coloured WHITE and have a little tick next
to it. This incidates, that the listing is TAGGED. To UN-TAG, just press
  'T' again.

To do a BATCH option, press and hold CTRL and then press the Copy, View,
  Print or Search option.

For Example - if you TAG say Blobby 1, Blobby 2, Blobby 6, Tango 10 and
press CTRL-S (Search Batch), you will be asked to specify your search
string. This time, the program will then Search your Tagged listings in
  turn, ie Blobby 1, Blobby 2, Blobby 6 & then Tango 10.

The old GLOBAL search option is still available, ie press 'G', specify
your search string, the program will then search all the listings for
  the text you specified.

Now, say your looking for a partucular software title, and you only want
to search the CD`s that you actually own. You can easily to do this by
TAGGING all the CD`s that you have and then doing a CTRL-S.
This could be a bit of a pain, tagging your CD`s everytime you want to
do a search of the CD`s you own.
So the program, has an option to store list of the CD`s that you own.
To use this option, first of all TAG all the CD`s that you own, then take
the 'M' option, MAKE USER LIST. This will store a list of the CD`s that
  you own in C:\DOS directory!
Then to recover this list of CD`s, just press `U' - USER LIST, the list of
the CD`s you own will then be recover.
You can then do, CTRL-S and do a batch search of the CD`s that you own!

There is also a 'F' format option, this will format a floppy disk in either
'A' or 'B'. Just in case you want to copy some files, but don`t have a
  formatted disk.

Now, there is just one option left - INSTALL.
This option is mainly for CD dealers, but can also be usefull for the
  general user.
What this option will do is create, an INSTALL disk of the viewer and all
the files on it to either A: or B:
When the disk has been created, to use all the person has to do is - Insert
the disk into their PC and type INSTALL.
When you take this option you will be given 4 choices -

F1 - Copy to A: and quick format
F2 - Copy to B: and quick format
F3 - Copy to A: and full format
F4 - Copy to B: and full format

So if you choose F1 - the disk in drive A: will be quick formatted and
then the files will be copied across.
F4 - The disk in B: will be full formatted and then the files copied
   across etc....
After pressing F1,F2,F3,F4 - insert the disk into the selected drive and
press a key - then wait - no user intervention is required now - the
format will be done and the files automatically copied across.
When the disk has been done, you will asked if you want to create another
one, if so insert another disk and away you go!
