[Installing the Electronic Datebook]
These diskettes contain the Playboy Electronic Datebook 1.0 for
Windows. To install the Electronic Datebook on your computer run
Install by inserting DISK 1 and typing A:Install or B:Install in the
File/Run menu item in the Program or File Manager. Or click on the
A or B drive icons in File Manager and double-click on "Install.exe."
After installation, open the PLAYBOY.ED event file, if it is not already
open, for holiday and list examples.

[Corrections to the User's Guide]
1. The User's Guide section "If You Have A Multimedia System" states
that the Installation program will prompt you to install a PC Speaker
Driver. The speaker driver is no longer included in the Installation
program. This driver is, however, easily obtainable through the
Microsoft Driver Bulletin Board, or through the Microsoft Windows
forum on Compuserve.
2. Although the User's Guide mentions that the Installation program
will add several .wav files to your system, this is no longer true.

[A note to users of Windows 3.0]
In order to take full advantage of the Datebook's many new features,
we strongly recommend that you upgrade to Windows 3.1.

Our print preview feature will not perform correctly under Windows
3.0 unless you have scalable fonts installed (e.g., Adobe Type
Manager, or another fonts package).

You may experience problems when trying to use the Generic Text
Only printer driver when you are in Windows 3.0. This driver will
perform properly if you are using Windows 3.1.

-------------------------------------------
[ATI Mach 32 Video drivers]
If you are using the ATI Mach 32 video drivers, you may find that
our animated icons animate very slowly. If you wish, you may turn
off the animation feature in the Datebook options.
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
[If you are using Hewlett Packard PCL Drivers]
If you are using Hewlett Packard PCL Drivers, you need to be sure
that they are set at 300 dpi. If the drivers are set at any lower
resolution, your Electronic Datebook may not print correctly.
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
[Date and time formats]
Dates and times displayed in the Electronic Datebook follow the 'long
date' and time formats chosen in the International option of
Windows Control Panel. The "short date" format is not used by the
Electronic Datebook.

Windows defaults to display leading zeros on dates. For example,
"May 06, 1993" rather than "May 6, 1993." If you prefer, you can
use the long date format in the International option of Windows
Control Panel to turn off leading zeros.

-------------------------------------------
[Multimedia alarms]
If you have a multimedia system capable of playing .wav files, you
can add your own sounds to the list of Electronic Datebook alarm
sounds. Information on adding is included in detail in the section
"Using the Electronic Datebook on a multimedia system" in your
Electronic Datebook User's Guide.
