THE ORBITAL REMIX CONTEST!

Be a remixer--or just sound like one! Enter the
ffrr Records Orbital Remix Contest, co-sponsored
by Spin and Keyboard Magazine. The winning remix
will appear on the B-side of an Orbital single, and the 
winner will receive a $1,000 grand prize!

First, download the Orbital samples from the sounds and 
graphics software library on America Online. Then, look
in the SPINonline Multimedia Gallery for sound effects
software to help you loop, stretch, squash and pound
these bits of sound into a throbbing techno masterpiece.
Follow the rules below.  And good luck!

You do not have to be an America Online member or a
subscriber to either Spin or Keybord Magazine to enter
this contest.

CONTEST RULES

1.   For each remix, send your name, address,
daytime phone number, and your remix entry on a
DAT or high quality cassette to ffrr Records,
Attn: Orbital Remix Contest, 825 Eighth Avenue,
24th Floor, New York, NY  10019 USA.  Please be
sure your remix will be available to ffrr Records
in a digital format, should your entry win. 
Entries are due February 1, 1995.

2.   Each remix submitted must be the original
work of the contestant.  Remixes may be no longer
than 8 minutes.  Contestant may enter as many
remixes as he or she wishes.  Each remix submitted
must not contain any outside samples or musical
interpolations other than the Orbital sound
samples supplied.  Original interpretations of
these sound samples is encouraged.  The winning
remix will become the property of ffrr Records. 
The ffrr Records Orbital Remix Contest is not
responsible for entries that are late, lost,
damaged, misdirected, mailed with insufficient
postage, stolen or misappropriated, or crazed
postal carriers.  DATs will not be returned. 
Contestants are responsible for keeping duplicate
copies.

3.   Grand prize: Remixer credit and $1,000 cash;
25 Runners Up will receive a signed copy of the
"Crash and Carry" single, including the winning
remix.  

4.   Winners will be selected by an independent
judging panel consisting of ffrr Records, A&R
staff, club DJs and SPIN and KEYBOARD staff.  All
entries will be judged equally on the basis of the
following criteria:  originality, composition,
remix techniques, and floor-filling ability. 
Winners will be determined by February 1, 1995. 
No transfer and no substitution of prizes except
as necessary due to availability.  Taxes are the
responsibility of the winners.  Void where
prohibited.  All federal, state and local
regulations apply.

5.   Winners will be notified by mail and will be
required to sign and return an affidavit of
eligibility within fourteen (14) working days of
the date of a notification.  Affadavit will
include a statement that a winner's remix is
his/her original work.  Failure to sign and return
such affadavit within fourteen (14) days will
result in an immediate disqualification and an
alternate winner will be selected.  Entry
constitutes permission to use winner's name and
likeness for future advertising and publicity
purposes without additional compensation.
