I. Adding Share to Your System (Windows NT and OS/2 Users See Item II.)
========================================================================

Personal Home Inventory requires Share to be loaded in memory with
specific parameters. Share is a utility, included with DOS, used to
manage file sharing and locking. It can be loaded in either the
CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The SETUP program will offer to do this
for you during installation of Personal Home Inventory. If you let SETUP
make the required changes a backup of the original file will be saved for
you. SETUP will tell you the name of the backup file created. After
SETUP is complete, you must exit Windows and reboot the computer for the
changes to take affect.

If you decided not to let SETUP make the required changes, or SETUP
notifies you that it was not able to successfully make the changes, you
must make the change yourself and reboot before running Personal Home
Inventory.

If you are loading, or desire to load Share in your CONFIG.SYS file, it
must contain the following line:

    Install=C:\DOS\SHARE /F:8192 /L:500

Replace C:\DOS with the correct path to the SHARE.EXE file.

If you are loading, or desire to, load Share in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file,
it must contain the following line:

    C:\DOS\SHARE /F:8192 /L:500

Again, replace C:\DOS with the correct path to the SHARE.EXE file.

II. Windows NT and OS/2 Users
==============================

If you are using OS/2 or Microsoft Windows NT Share is not needed.

III.  Replacement of Defective Disks
===================================

Within 30 days of purchase, we replace defective disks free of charge.
To determine whether or not you have a defective disk, use the
DISKCOPY command to copy the entire disk. A defective disk will
usually give you one of the following messages:

"General Failure reading drive..."
"Sector not found..."
"CRC error..."
"Bad Sector..."
"Unrecoverable read error..."
"Address mark not found..."
