2/25/46 - Bird Dog
William C. Shrout

Tarhelia's Lucky Strike, a white-and-silver pointer, froze on one of the characteristic, intense points which had made him outstanding among modern gun dogs. This picture was taken during the Continental Championship Stake at Waynesboro, Ga., one of the many competitions held to settle those endless and bitter arguments among sportsmen as to who owned the fittest hunting dog. Although Lucky Strike did not win this stake, he had won innumerable other field trials and had earned, for his owner, Gerald M. Livingston of New York, bookcases full of silver trophies.
