1/30/70 - Snow Monkey
Co Rentmeester

On a rugged, windswept peninsula of northern Honshu, a small colony of Japanese monkeys maintains a lonely outpost against the elements. Thousands of years ago, when the climate of Japan was milder, many more lived in these mountainous areas. Today, only fifty are left, leading a harsh existence in the freezing wilderness. They are aptly called snow monkeys. A slightly luckier troop than those in the northernmost colony has discovered the comforts of a natural hot spring and regularly luxuriates in a steamy pool.
