                  GRAVIS ULTRASOUND DRIVERS
                             FOR
                     SIERRA 32 BIT GAMES

The GRAVIS ULTRASOUND DRIVERS on this disk will work with the
following SIERRA 32 bit games:

1) Gabriel Knight
2) Gabriel Knight CD
3) Police Quest Open Season
4) Quest for Glory Shadows of Darkness
5) Leisure Suit Larry 6 CD.

These drivers will not work on earlier Sierra games. Specific
drivers for some earlier 16 bit Sierra games are available from
the Sierra BBS or by contacting the Sierra Technical Support
Department.

INSTALLATION:
The following steps will assist you in installing the Gravis
Ultrasound drivers for your 32 bit Sierra games.

1) Install the Sierra game according to the instructions in
    the Sierra game manual.

2) Copy the contents of this disk into the game directory.

3) Change to the game directory on your hard drive.

NOTE: MS DOS users can edit the RESOURCE.CFG file by using the
      EDIT command. While in the game directory type: EDIT
      RESOURCE.CFG <ENTER>

4) Edit the RESOURCE.CFG file and change the soundDrv and
    audioDrv lines to read as follows:

soundDrv  = GUSMIDI.DRV
audioDrv  = GUSDAC.DRV

SPECIAL NOTE FOR CD ROM GAMES: If you have installed the game
    using the tiny installation, you will need to include the
    full path to the sound driver files. For instance, for
    Gabriel Knight CD installed to the default directories, the
    soundDrv and audioDrv lines would read:

soundDrv  = C:\SIERRA\GKCD\GUSMIDI.DRV
audioDrv  = C:\SIERRA\GKCD\GUSDAC.DRV

5) Save the file. If you are editing the file with a word
   processor, be sure and save the file as an ASCII file.

6) Before playing a game the LOADPATS.EXE program must be run
with the corresponding INI file for the game. For example,
Gabriel Knight 1 you would type:

c:>LOADPATS -IGK1.INI <ENTER>

The -I[filename] option lets loadpats know which set of patches
to load into the Gravis card for the game.

The several .ini files on this disk are for the respective 32
bit games:

     LL6.INI (Leisure Suit Larry 6 CD VESA version)
     QG4.INI         (Quest for Glory 4)
     PQ4.INI         (Police Quest 4)
     GK1.INI (Gabriel Knight 1 disk and CD)

7) Start your Sierra game according to the instructions in your
   Sierra game manual.

   If you continue to experience any problems, or if you
   have any questions concerning any of the above steps,
   our Technical Support Team will be more than happy to assist
   you.
