README Waves 1.0.012
Waves is a utility supplied with Easy-CD Pro and MM which converts WAV files of
any sampling rate and resolution to the 44.1 kHz and 16 bits required by CD-DA
(audio). A group of files converted together is saved together in one new file.

There are two conversion option buttons, labelled Red Book and 44.1 khz 16 bits.
Which one you use will depend on which CD recorder you will eventually use to
record your files to CD (see below).

1.	To start the program, double-click on its icon in Program Manager. The Waves
	window will appear.

2.	To create a new list of sound files to be treated, click on the New List button.

3.	Click on the Add button. A standard Windows selection dialog box will appear,
from which you may select the WAV files you wish to add to the List. You can
select multiple files in the File Name box by pressing the SHIFT key (to select
several files in sequence) or the CTRL key (to select several files out of
	sequence).

4.	To save the list in the Waves window, click on the Save List button. The list
will be saved to a file with the extension .WAL, and can be opened another
time using the Open List button.

5.	To deleting a file from the list, highlight it by clicking on it (you can also use
the keyboard arrows to move the highlight bar up and down), then click on the
	Remove button.

6.	New files are always added BEFORE the file currently highlighted by the bar.
To change the order of files already in the list, you will have to delete the file
you want to move and re-add it at the correct position.

The next step depends on what CD recorder you will be using to record the disc:

If you will use a Philips or Kodak recorder, click on the Red Book button. You will be
prompted for a path and filename; all the files in the list will be processed together and
converted into one large file which will be saved with the extension .RBK. (Note: In
case you're wondering, RBK is not a new standard, but the extension we have given to
a standard PCM audio file.) The conversion process may take some time; the highlight
bar will move down the list of files as each is processed to show progress.

When processing is finished, you can simply drag and drop the new RBK file into the
Cue Sheet and proceed from there. Once recorded on a CD-DA or mixed-mode disc,
the resulting files will play as normal CD audio.

If you will use a JVC, Pinnacle, or Sony recorder, click on the 44.1 khz 16 bit button.
You will be prompted for a path and filename; all the files in the list will be processed
together and converted into one large file which will be saved with the extension
WAV. The conversion process may take some time; the highlight bar will move down
the list of files as each is processed to show progress.

If the audio files you wish to record are already WAVE files recorded at 44.1 khz 16
bits, you do not need to use Waves, but can simply drag the files directly into the Cue
Sheet. However, Waves may be useful if you wish to combine several files into one
larger file.

Note: At any time during either conversion process you can click on the Cancel button
in the lower right corner of the dialog box. This will abort the conversion and erase any
files converted up to that point.
