1.0 Documentation Corrections
-----------------------------
This section contains information that revises or supplements information
in the "NetWare Reference Guide for NetView Operators."

1.1 Unsupported SET SERVER and GET SERVER Parameters

The following material is a correction to pages 3-24 and 3-39 of the
"NetWare Reference Guide for NetView Operators."

If the target server is running NetWare 4.0, NetWare for SAA supports
running the GET SERVER and SET SERVER RunCmds from the NetView console.

    - SET SERVER allows the NetView operator to set MOST server parameters
supported by the NetWare 4.0 SET command.

    - GET SERVER allows the NetView operator to display the value of those
       parameters.

However,GET SERVER and SET SERVER do NOT support SET parameters
specifying time intervals. NetWare 4.0 SET parameters that are NOT
supported by the NetView GET SERVER or SET SERVER RunCmds include:

        Daylight Savings Time Offset:
        Delay Before First Watchdog Packet:
        Delay Between Watchdog Packets:
        Directory Cache Allocation Wait Time:
        Directory Cache Buffer NonReferenced Delay:
        Dirty Directory Cache Delay Time:
        Dirty Disk Cache Delay Time:
        File Delete Wait Time:
        Garbage Collection Interval:
        Minimum File Delete Wait Time:
New Packet Receive Buffer Wait Time:
        New Service Process Wait Time:
        Psuedo Preemption Time:
        TIMESYNC Maximum Offset:
        TIMESYNC Polling Interval:
        TIMESYNC Time Adjustment:
TTS Backout File Truncation Wait Time:
        TTS Unwritten Cache Wait Time:
        Turbo FAT Re-Use Wait Time:

For a full description of NetWare SET parameters, see the "NetWare 4.0
    Utilities Reference."

1.2 Invalid Information in Returned from QUERY DIRECTORY

This information is a revision to "NetWare Reference Guide for NetView
     Operators", page 3-25, 3-26.

If you invoke the NetView RunCmd, QUERY DIRECTORY, NetWare for SAA
includes the following inapplicable or invalid information items in
     its response:

     - Access date and time - This item does not apply to QUERY DIRECTORY
        and displays invalid information.

     - Modification date and time - This item does not apply to
QUERY DIRECTORY and displays invalid information.

     - Owner rights - This item does not apply to QUERY DIRECTORY and
        is not displayed at all.

1.3 Invalid Information Returned from QUERY FILE

This information is a revision to the "NetWare Reference Guide
for NetView Operators," pages 3-25 and 3-26.

If you invoke the NetView RunCmd, QUERY FILE, NetWare for SAA
includes the following inconsistent or invalid information items in
     its response:

     - Attributes - This item may not display.

     - Inherited Rights Mask - This item may not display.

     - Archive Date - This item displays either invalid archive dates or
       no dates at all.

1.4 Erroneous Parameters for QUERY SERVER

This information is a revision to the "NetWare Reference Guide for
NetView Operators," page 3-14, Table 3-2.

     - The QUERY SERVER parameter listed as "Internet_Addr" should be
       listed as "InternetAddr."

     - The QUERY SERVER parameter listed as "NumberOfVols" should be
       listed as "NumOfVols."

2.0 NetView Alert Information
-----------------------------

This section describes two new alerts that may be forwarded by
for SAA to the NetView console. This information supplements
Chapter 2 of the "NetWare Reference Guide for NetView Operators."

"Configurable Capacity Limit Reached: Server configuration"

     Failure Text: Alert THRESHOLD REACHED

Explanation: The number of NetView alerts generated by the collection
point and end point servers has exceeded the HIGHWATERMARK parameter
setting in the NVCMDS.DB file. Alert forwarding to the NetView console
has been stopped until the number of generated alerts drops to or below
the LOWWATERMARK setting in the NVCMDS.DB file.

Action: Request the LAN adminstrator to check for LAN conditions that
may be generating excessive NetView alerts. Check the HIGHWATERMARK
setting in the NVCMDS.DB file on the collection point server and
raise it if it is set too low.

NetWare Message: NetView alerts have hit highwater mark. NetView
     alert forwarding stopped.

"LAN Communications lost: Undetermined"

Explanation: The connection to one of the known end point servers
has been lost. Possible causes include: the end point server going
down; NetWare for SAA or NMA for NetView being unloaded on the end
point server; a break in the LAN cable connection.

Action: Contact the server administrator and report that the
end point server connection is down.

     NetWare Message: None
