 [EDITORIAL]

 -<^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^>-

Finally it's here, the first issue of Fatal News on Snes, Pc and Amiga. Your
expectations for this issue shouldn`t be to high. Why? Well it`s three years
now since i released the last issue on C64. I`ve been quite inactive in the
computer scene since then, i mean if you compute fpr five years you get quite
 fed up with it.

 -<^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^>-

My interest in computers came back two years later, 1993 to be exact. When i
started to study computer science at the university. The thing that really
amazed me was when i got intouch with internet, it was not internet in it self
 rather the size of it.

 -<^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^>-

You may now wonder what my prospects are for this magazine. My number one goal
for Fatal News is to amuse as many computer owners as possible. We in the
staff will try to reach bothe the serious computer owner and the "NOT" so
serious one. We will try to touch all topics surrounding the computerlife.
As in this issue, where my girlfriend gives you a quite usual opinion on her
 partners beings.

 -<^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^>-

To make this magazine a bit more serious i`d like to get previews of games
and hardware directly from the producers of them. So if you are working on a
game or if you know a software or hardware company, you could tell them about
me. If you want to include your shareware productions, just if recently
released, get in touch with using the adress above. Anything that you want
can be sent to the adress above.

 -<^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^>-

What do i need from the ordinary reader? Well i would be glad if as many
people as possible would vote on the different kind of charts. To advertise
in the magazine the prices are as follow:

Croyd's personal notes on "The Gathering '94" (TG) at Rykkinhallen, Oslo
                   29th of March - 3rd of April
 ++++++++0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000++++++++

Here are some notes that I made during TG, mostly while idling at my Linux
box watching warez go from CD to dat, dat to disk, or disk to dat. I've used
the past tense most of the time, as I guess I'll look them over and give
them to emil1 some time next week, so that he can include them in FatalNews.
It is mostly things that I wrote after being awake a couple of days, so parts
of them might be a bit rambling.

 ++++++++0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000++++++++

The first party I attended was the catastrophe during the Easter of '88
(I think), when the police surrounded the building after only a few hours of
partying. That was when Copy Parties was called Copy Parties, and not Demo
Parties or whatever they are called these days. (And men was men, and didn't
sleep at all during the parties.) There are actually a few people here that
I know attended that party together with me, other friends have left the
scene or have some better way to use the holidays. Copy Parties (I still call
them that, and I think you should too!) have evolved a great deal in the 6
years since then. As far as I remember the invitation then was a couple of
Xeroxed sheets of paper. That is far away for the rather professional
invitations of today, with full colour covers and even adverts. I'll bore
you readers of FatalNews to death with the story of what happened at that
party back in '88 if anyone asks me.. :)

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

A friend of mine and me left from the place we come from, somewhere in the
middle of nowhere in the Southeast of Norway, at about 9.30 PM, and got to
the place just in time before the opening at 12 PM. (Of course we left to the
sound of 2 Unlimited's "There's no limit" and wearing dark sun glasses,
driving in the middle of the night... True!) The chaos of cars and people
when we arrived shows the legend that people of the scene are more than a bit
nocturnal to be true. Actually some people lived in a tent outside the hall
the night before the party just to be first in line! This party lasted for 5
days or so, and the price was some 200 nkr, that is about 28 USD.

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

The party was held in two separate halls, with showers and toilets in between.
Those were of course mostly locked, and if not, filled with sleeping lamers
or taken. Some 40 hours after the start of the party the sleeping _tent_
arrived. Some cheap plastic thing with space for about 70-80 people I guess.
There was no floor in the tent, and no mats either, but at least they provided
some boards made out of _wood_ for us to sleep on, so that we didn't have to
sleep directly on the asphalt or snow.. Not very pleasant if you only have a
light sleeping bag, but after a couple of days you even find yourself nodding
of even at the usual 100db in the main hall. I was one of those sorry beings
in that tent for a few hours. The air was bad, and I felt more dead getting
out than I did when I went to sleep. It smelled distinctly of gasoline when I
left, and I heard some people talking about dead people there later during
the party :) On the second to last day the ice and the snow inside the tent
still hadn't melted!! And it was raining as hell, so some people was sleeping
partly in the water!(Party rule 1: Bring your own bed, or at least a pillow.)

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

As on the last gathering, there are a few internal television channels, at
least two, I think. Running on the UHF band they show "adult" movies, and
other trash, and even the Amiga demos. Possibly some good movies too, but if
you go to a party to see second generation copies of VCRs broadcasted in a
less than perfect environment, you should be at home with your VCR and a
pretty girl. Useless to say, I didn't get to see much of them. Haven't seen
anyone watching snuff or really hard core porn, but I haven't been looking.
(LAMERS!!!) All illegal is hot stuff here, so I guess one could make a
fortune selling hand grenades to people :) I heard that the organisers are
actually cutting the cables of people watching porn, surely because they
were worried about the police walking around. (But at the same time they were
showing some hard stuff on the internal TV, so they couldn't be entirely
 serious about it.)

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

The first 14 hours there was 3 fire drills, two planned, and one because of
some people making a fire outside the hall. It seems like the Fire Department
and the janitor at the hall really gave the arrangers a lot of trouble, there
even was some uniformed police walking around for a while. ...Little did they
know... Fire drills are pretty shitty experiences when you have to get
outside wearing only a T-shirt and jeans and there is -5 C and 30 cm of snow,
but hell, we Norwarezians are vikings, right? And of course the usual rumours
about civil police walking around preparing a major bust. (There was some
uniformed ones at one time.. But they left.)

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

While chatting with one of the people running the show [Trash/Exile I think],
I asked why they were doing this. His answer was that it was great fun when
it worked, like it did last year. Can't say that the party is working 100%
now, but isn't the fault of the arrangers (Exile and Crusaders mostly), as
they seems to be doing quite a good job, and should get a lot of honour for
their important work. Problem is "the outsiders", people like the hired
electrician that thinks that you need to sleep sometimes during the 5 days of
the party, and the men in blue and those in red.

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

There are of course some things that could have been prepared better, like the
network. Quite a lot of the PCs, and some of the Amigaes were networked,
making a mess of different software being run. At least when arriving people
expected machines running software like Novell Personal Netware,
Novell DOS 7.0, standard 3.11 client software, TCP-IP based machines (Like my
UNIX server), Windows for Workgroups and PowerLan should be able to connect
to the same servers, dedicated or non-dedicated, workgroups or traditional
servers. Guess what? The world doesn't work like that. And then it is the
question of segments.. At the most some 250 machines were on the same 2
segments, spread all over one of the halls. (The other smaller hall had its
own variety of networks.) The machines that worked best was actually the
amigaes, as they had no problem talking with both the novell and the UNIX
 servers at the same time.

 ++++++++000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

There is some rather hard core porn being shown on the adult TV channel right
now.. Clearly violating the Norwegian codex for those things. Showing that
here is like giving people lost in the Sahara glossy pictures of rivers and
springs. To bad the scene is such a male dominated place, most of the females
here are girlfriends or sisters of scene people, all five or so of them.
(If there are any females actually reading this write me a friendly mail, ehe?
:) Some more girls got here at Friday night. You got to be quite trashy to go
to a place like this to check out guys! hehe. Actually I met some nice girls
 here..[deleted :]

I just breaked the 1 gigabyte barrier... That is in 6 hours after I got the
gear to work as it should.. (And just on this party of course!) Lamers eat
your hearts out! I've decided not to sleep before the 2 gb gets finished.
(Hey, these are my personal notes, right?) (ED. NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

 <Tic...Tic...Tic...>

12 hours or so later: Waited for ages for two other CDs.. Got one now, might
get the other one later. After a few different approaches I finally
recompiled the kernel on my machine to recognise both DAT and CD roms, and
things are working quite speedy now. (Before that I even tried to use a CD
attached to an Amiga and copy with FTP over the network.. SLOW)

 <Tic...Tic...Tic...>

6 hours later: 2.2 gb copied, now only checking against my other archives is
left.. And then it is the tapes. Ah well.. Life is hard, ehe? (If there are
any more people out there trading dat-tapes that don't know me, just write me
a mail, or talk with any fC member, or check out the latest fatal.nfo file,
as we might put something there.)

The internet link got up tonight, and for 20 minutes Croyd was Live from The
Gathering on IRC.. Coolness, but at just 14400 baud..Seems like the repeaters
aren't repeating ip packets, just ipx. That is something that should be fixed
for the next party. Actually, I think at least the location repeaters should
be planned before the party, so that we won't get a network with one segment
twice as long as it should be, and several small ones like now.

 <ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz>

Got up in time for the gfx comp. More pictures than ever before as far as I
remember, but people still need to learn perspective and anathomy. (Get the
winners from tg94.bi.no if you want them.)

 [Some time later]

The Amiga and PC demo comps. just finished, quite nice some of them, but no
new effects worth talking about. When was the last time you saw anything
truly new in one of those demos?

The "reporters" of one of the internal TV channels are heading this way..
Let's hope they come to ask some stupid questions.. heheh.. The camera lamer
if filming me right now.. :-) To bad.. They went away.

 [Saturday Night, 6am (ED. Morning?)]

Seems like the first people are starting to leave, and the network is in
worse shape than ever. Machines I've seen on this party are of course all the
Amiga models, and quite a lot of PCs, but also a C64, and some Archimedeses.
The Amigaes are still in majority it seems, but the percentage of PCs seems
to be increasing for each party. A shame really, as most of these PCs seems
to be running MS-DOS :-( There was even a few people running the net-bsd
port to Amiga! And of course there was a few people running (the one true OS)
 Linux too.

There was at least 2 pure amiga BBSes up (You could telnet to them, or use a
modem ), quite a lot of arcade machines, and even a pool table. Any other
features that I've forgotten? Hm.. There was some 3 projectors being used at
one time, quite nice. Also they showed a few films from laserdisc. Not 24
hours a day as they claim before the party, but that's just usual.

 [Saturday Night, 7am (ED. Morning?)]

Have just attended a meeting of some of the IRC users here... Here is a list
of them: (Not all was at the meeting) I've listed the #s where they
use to hang out where I know it.

 Croyd (Hell, I don't know! :)
 Bollox Face	(Hack & Freak)
 MrT (Amiga!)
 Charge ()
 Noring (PowerTech)
 Slizer ()
 Stryper ()
 Mics ()
 Savage (Warez)
 Rivera ()
 Blizzard ()
 Obitus ()

 * There probably was some more not listed here, though luck guys!

At the meeting there was a couple of guys from PowerTech, the company that
provided the Internet link for this party. There was no free lines into the
hall, so they had to use a cable that went out of the hall, and to the house
of a friend of them.. When I left them, they were arguing about who to send
up to the tree to pick down that cable! (Possibly a very wet tree, it had
rained a great deal.) PowerTech have done a great job, so if you want cheap
internet access here in Norway email info@powertech.no
(Cheapest I've seen here at least.. So I guess some advertising isn't bad)

<-If you wanna advert your company send a check on $20 to the adress on P 1 ->

 [Saturday morning, 10 am]

So, what about the next party?
Sitting here next to me is Lazerbrain (Crusaders), filling up his server.
(The old Purple Haze, for those who are on the modem scene).I asked him about
the possibility of next years party: He didn't know, but he didn't think so,
as they probably will go with loss this year too. The main reason for this
being that a few days before the start of the party, the local fire department
told them that there would be _no_ sleeping allowed in the hall because of
fire regulations. Because of this they had to hire the tent, which cost them
 an additional 5000$.

I sure hope there will be a party the next Easter.. This is the 4th Easter
I use at a party in a row! :) (3 gatherings, and a party held by Theatre and
 Network back in '91)

REPORT FROM AN OBJECTIVE GIRLFRIEND WATCHING COMPUTER-MANIACS
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

At three o'clock in the morning, beeing a girl is beeing something very
exotic in the computer-hall of The royal institute of tecnology, Stockholm.

I wouldn't say the boys didn't let us play with them and their computers
when we were kids and people begun to have these machines at home. I'm quite
sure I could have been as captured by it as any boy, it's just that it didn't
come naturally. Then, boys played war, girls did not. I did sometimes, but I
suspect the game was a bit different when I joined in, not as rough as usual.
Was not the rough play the very idea of it?
About the age of thirteen there is some strange magic distance between the
sexes, we consider ourselves beeing far more mature than the boys and they
either pretended we didn't exist or they fantasized, talked and made up
stories about their experiences of us.
Hardly anyone makes own ideas of what to do, peole get ideas from other
people. You do what your friends do. Girls do what other girls do. I don't
know any father of only girls, who have introduced the computer to his kids
to play with and learn from. His daughters dont know enough about the uses of
a computer to ask for one.
I had no interest in it at that time, I dare say, I didn't know the use of
 the stupid thing.

As we all know, the stupid thing came to be a very important and useful
thing who entered every door of this society. Not even us, sewing, knitting,
Barbie-doll-playing girls, could stand outside the world of computers anymore.
As I found out a little more about it, I started to study at the university
of Stockholm. Now, at this age, the tension between boys and girls has loosend
up and we more consider each other human beeings, we can talk. I found out
where many of them had been hiding through youth; behind the screen.
Though, programming did not seem to be what they had been doing there. I took
a course in Pascal-programming and there they all were; Peter, Bjrn, Magnus,
Kenneth, all with eyes square like screens. They knew everything already that
was to know about computers, to them this course would be the easiest of all.
There was only one problem; they had not been programming very much and they
thoght they knew so much already, they forgot to learn.

Now, I sometimes go with my somehow computer-infiltrated boyfriend to the
computer-hall of the institute of technology. It has happened that we have
stayed there until late at night, even until morning if we have had something
important to do. Here are always other students, sitting, staring at their
screens, tapping on their keyboards. No matter the hour.
You might think they're ambitious. I did too, at first. Then i found out
what most of them were doing. I heard about a game called "Mudd". Somebody
described the contents of it like this; you can go east, go west, pick up
 things and kill animals.
Is that ambitious or what? You tell me!

Now I wonder; Should I be sorry because I have not yet discovered these games
and lived my life without them? Why was I not caught by it when I tried one?
Is there something i have missed or maybe never will understand? And, in that
case, is that because I'm critical or because I'm a girl?
This is a cry for help, so if you have any opinion about this, send a postcard
 or mail Fatal News!
I'll leave another report if I find out anything!

                     [What is Fatal Connection?]

 ///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\

When i started irc`ing i got intouch with something called f.c., i wondered
what they actually were? I found out that they are a kind of a distribution
team on internet. They offer a service that atleast i`ve never heard off
before. They give people the oportunity to test software before buying it.
The organization of Fatal Connection seems to be a very complex one, they
are working very secretly, and as one irc user once said "Who are these guys?"
porves what i`m saying. What makes these guys diffrent from other warez
people? I took the opotunity to ask myself that question, and the thing that
got to me first was that they didn't do it for themselves, they do it for the
people. They offer all software you can think off and not think off. These
 guys are really huge.

 ///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\

I can`t believe what i hear when i get more into to this, these guys could
actually have a program spread over the world in less then 24 hrs, that`s
really a improvement. When i was a kid i used to hear about americans
importing cracked C64 games to the USA in the same amount of time. When i
ask some of them why they do this, they just say, why shouldn`t we? I wonder
is it worth get caught for something like this, but they don`t seem to be the
least worried. They think that the whole software idea is wrong, they
consider the software companies as Robin Hood considered the Sheriff off
Nottingham, "THIEFS". When i ask them what they want to achieve with this?
They proudly respond that they are fighting for a right to have copyright
software in 48 hrs to have a chance to test the software properly, if one
then likes it they should go and buy it, this is a very reasneable goal in
 my opinion.

 ///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\

When i ask them if it doesn`t exist another way to fight for this, they say
that they want to rip off the companies as they rip off the programmers.
How can you be contacted? Then silence breaks out.... They answer that if
the right people wants to contact them, they`ll find them. The only thing i
can say is good luck with your goal guys. And to you others, if you share
 their opinion, support them.
                                                                           JACK

 [Prelude]

This guy was running a "site" on internet, it`s allmost the same as a bbs.
He used his site to distribute copyright software, and as you all know it`s
illegal to spread copyright material. Here will now follow some text about
the case on the guy that runs the site. So if you intend to run one, take in
consideration that this can happen to you.

 [The Grand Jury charges that]

 1. From on or about November 21, 1993, to on or about January 5, 1994,
at Cambridge, in the District of Massachusetts, and elsewhere, DAVID
LAMACCHIA defendant herein, did knowingly and intentionally combine,
conspire, confederate, and agree with other persons unknown to the Grand
Jury, to commit offenses against the United States, that is, to devise and
execute a scheme and artifice to defraud, and, for the purpose of.Executing
and attempting to execute such scheme, to transmit and cause to be
transmitted in interstate commerce, by wire communication, writings, signs,
signals, pictures, and sounds for the purpose of executing such scheme and
artifice, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, section 1343.

 			[PERSONS AND ENTITIES]

 2.	At all times material to this Indictment, the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology (MIT) was an educational institution located on Memorial
   Drive, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

 3.	At all times material to this Indictment, defendant DAVID LAMACCHIA
was a student enrolled in and resident at MIT.

 4.	At all times material to this Indictment, MIT had a connection to the
Internet, an international collection of electronic networks linking
educational, military, and commercial computers around the world.

 			[CONSPIRACY AND SCHEME TO DEFRAUD]

 5.	It was part of the scheme and conspiracy that defendant DAVID
LAMACCHIA, using the computer aliases "JOHN GAUNT" and "GRIMJACK," set up,
participated in setting up, and, from on or about November 21, 1993, to on
or about December 21, 1993, and from on or about January 3, 1994 to on or
about January 5, 1994, operated and participated in the operation of a
computer bulletin board system named "CYNOSURE" to permit and facilitate,
on an international scale, the illegal copying and distribution of
copyrighted software, without payment of software licensing fees or the
software purchase price to the manufacturers and vendors of the copyrighted
   software

 6.	It was further part of the conspiracy and scheme to defraud that
defendant DAVID LAMACCHIA operated, and participated in the operation of,
"CYNOSURE" on two computer work stations owned and operated by MIT, located
at Cambridge in the District of Massachusetts. The two work stations were
designated "CYNOSURE I" and "CYNOSURE II." In addition, a third MIT computer
was utilized for back-up files and other purposes associated with running
  CYNOSURE.

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 7.	A computer bulletin board system ("BBS") consists essentially of a
personal computer on which is installed a computer program which permits
persons all over the world, using their own computers and telephone lines,
to obtain access to the BBS computer. Persons thereby obtaining access to
the computer BBS may post files and messages to the board ("upload"), and may
read and copy files and messages ("download") to their own computer. The
messages that may be uploaded or downloaded can consist of virtually any
type of data or information, including other software programs. The CYNOSURE
BBS was accessible worldwide via the Internet.

 8.	In using the MIT work stations for the purpose of running a computer
BBS to pirate and distribute copyrighted software, LAMACCHIA exceeded his
authority, as an MIT student, to access and use the MIT computer system and
  its connection to the Internet.

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 9.	It was further part of the conspiracy and scheme to defraud that the
defendant, using the computer aliases "JOHN GAUNT" and "GRIMJACK,"
communicated to other persons the Internet address (or "site") for the
CYNOSURE BBS to permit them to send, by means of interstate and foreign
wire communication, files and messages to the BBS and to avail themselves
of the opportunity to copy and cause to be transmitted by means of
interstate and foreign wire communication, computer files stored on the BBS.
The users of the CYNOSURE BBS often hid their identities by using an
Internet address located in Finland which afforded an anonymous forwarding
   service.

 10.	It was further part of the conspiracy and scheme for users to "upload"
computer files into the CYNOSURE BBS in order to create a library of
software that could be accessible to other users who, without paying a
purchase price or licensing fee, could unlawfully download copyrighted
software to their own computer systems. Files downloaded to an anonymous
Finnish Internet address service would then be surreptitiously forwarded
to the user's own computer system.

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 11.	It was further part of the conspiracy and scheme to defraud to
circulate the CYNOSURE BBS address to a trusted network of computer users
in order to protect the BBS from detection, and to communicate with BBS
users by posting "README" files on the BBS. In these communications, which
users would access through interstate telephone communication between
their computers and the MIT server upon which the CYNOSURE BBS was
resident, the defendant: advised users to check the CYNOSURE I index before
uploading files so as not to duplicate existing files; requested
particular copyrighted software; and cautioned against over-publication of
the Internet site address for the bulletin board in order to reduce the
risk of detection by the "net.cops," i.e., systems administrators and
    network security personnel.

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 12.	In fact, however, as defendant knew, the site address for the CYNOSURE
BBS was disseminated widely and indiscriminately over public electronic
networks, and as defendant knew or reasonably could have foreseen, traffic
into and out of the CYNOSURE BBS for the purpose of unlawfully copying
copyrighted software quickly became enormous. For example, approximately
180 computers contacted the BBS over a single 16-hour period of time it
was in operation, downloading hundreds of computer software files
containing copyrighted commercial programs during that same period.

 13.	As a result of the conspiracy and scheme to defraud, losses from the
illegal distribution of the pirated software are estimated to exceed one
million dollars during the period the CYNOSURE BBS was in operation.

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 14. On or about November 24, 1993, at Cambridge, in the District of
Massachusetts, defendant DAVID LAMACCHIA created a "README" file on the
    CYNOSURE BBS which stated,

     -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Cynosure FSP site.

The site currently has about 150 megs of space, so go ahead
and upload. Let's get this site going!

New files should be uploaded in a new directory under
	/dos/files.

     -------------------------------------------------------------------------

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

 15.	On or about December 4, 1993, at Cambridge, in the District of
Massachusetts, defendant DAVID LAMACCHIA created, and participated in
creating, a "README" file on the CYNOSURE BBS which stated,

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Cynosure I FSP site.

This site has a total of 193 megs of space.

This is a download-only site. If you want to upload (please
do!) on Cynosure II at 18.187.0.75 port 2433.

	--	gJ (a.k.a. Gaunt,

   --------------------------------------------------------------------------

"FSP" refers to "file service protocol." It is used to facilitate a large
volume of file activity without causing the system to "crash."

 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

The text continues with the text in the README file for different dates. This
 is not much of intrest.

                           [THE EDITORS OPINION]

It`s very sadly to hear that a young guy like David LaMacchia, thats`s in his
twenties shall be prosecuted for something that to him has been more like a
game. I doubt that he has had any profit in the whole lot, and i belive that
for once when they get a guy that spread copyrighted material in this way,
they grab him and stuff him into a box. The problem is that the "police" or
what we should call them are not able to caught the real criminals in this
whole lot. They are way far protected from them. So to prove that their
efforts are paying back, they grab a university student that really didn`t
understand what he was doing. They are also tlking about the loses all the
companies suffer when their programs are being copied, i`d don`t believe in
that for one cent. I believe that all the people retrieving files from
CYNOSURE would actually never had bought those programs anyway, and i also
belive that a person finds a program he likes he buys it to get the whole
 lot, like docs.

The companies are greedy and think that every copy of a program is a lose for
the company. This is wrong so stop stating nonsense and try to get a real
accusation. If the "police" was as good in getting university students in
getting drug dealers we wouldn`t have drugs today. Any opinions on this case
can be mailed to Fatal News, and they will all be printed.

Fatal News stands for human rights, we started like collectors, and have
always been, why should we end today?

                                                                          JOHN

 |_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|=

Is a new video-player card. It uses a custom designed version of the C-Cube
CL-450 MPEG decoder chip. The card gives enough power for any PC to play
back movies. The card plugs into any ISA slot a 26 pin feature connector on
the reelmagic to the feature connector off your vga card. It has also a plug
to connect it to your stereo, as it plays 16 bit audio. It`s both Sound
Blaster and Windows system compatible. There are some limitations though,
you have to use a SONY-CDU to make this card to allow you to play 3DO and
CD-I cd's on your pc. It plays 30 frames per second. I don`t know much more
about this stunning card, but to me it seems to be a must for a elite
 buyer.
