Basic Configuration Instructions
--------------------------------

You must complete the following tasks before you can use NetWare Connect:

 1. Configure the ports to specify the type of modem you are
     using and the line speed.
 2. Select NetWare Connect ports only if you have installed
more ports than you are licensed to use.
 3. Make ports unidirectional, if required. Ports can be
specified for dial-in or dial-out use only.
 4. Set ARAS passwords for NetWare users with a NetWare password.

To perform tasks 1 through 3, select "Configure NetWare Connect"
from the main menu, and then "Configure Ports" from the Configuration
Options menu that appears. Select "Configure Service" to perform task 4.

After you have performed these four tasks, any NetWare user can
use any of the loaded services on any port for an unlimited time.
However, dialback is not allowed for an incoming call.
If you want to set up an advanced configuration to enable dialback
and other security features, use the following options in the
 Configuration Options menu:

Configure Security Allows you to do the following:
                          >> Restrict users to access specific ports
                          >> Restrict users to a specific service
                          >> Restrict ports to a specific service
                          >> Set global defaults for maximum connection time
                              and dialback parameters
                          >> Customize a user's maximum connection time and
                              dialback parameters

Configure Service Allows you to set service-specific parameters for
the NCS and ARAS services. RNS requires no
                          service-specific configuration.

Configure Audit Trail Allows you to enable and disable an audit trail
and set parameters for archiving the audit trail.

After you have finished configuring NetWare Connect, you should always
generate a configuration report to verify your configuration by choosing
the "Generate Configuration Report" option from the main menu.
