I've played a tremendous number of soccer management games over the last
eighteen months as the major publishers 'discovered' the soccer management
game. It's been facinating to see the magazines change from 'Oh No! Not
another soccer management game' to ratings of 93%. I'm flattered to see that
so many of these games have taken up my own ideas of management (Championship
Manager and Premier Manager) rather than Kevin Toms' but I'm disappointed at
at the lack of innovation in these games.
In writing Premier Soccer I wanted to include all the significant features
I've seen in all these games and then take the game well beyond that point.
As many of you will know the game should have come out 6 months ago but I'm
sure you'll appreciate the extra features that have been added in that six
months. A lot of good has come out of that delay.
My main aim with Premier Soccer was to bring in a great deal more of the
talents the real manager has to use into the computer game. PS is not just a
a transfer market game but one in which a team's performance is much more
than just the sum of the players' abilities. The manager must mould the team
and motivate the players.
PS is now in continuous development. Help me. Phone/write me. Criticise!
