CONTENTS: comms cpio diff e2fsbn find grep keytbls ksh lpr select shellutl shlbsvga syslogd tar tcsh textutl zoneinfo
comms: Serial file-transfer and communication packages.
comms: Includes: kermit, minicom, rz, sz.
cpio: The GNU cpio backup and archiving utility. (v. 2.3)
diff: The GNU diff utilities - finds differences between files. (to make
diff: source code patches, for instance)
e2fsbn: Utilities for the second extended file system. (v. 0.4a)
find: GNU find 3.8
find: This package contains the GNU find, xargs, and locate programs.
find: find and xargs comply with POSIX 1003.2, as far as I know. They
find: also support some additional options, some borrowed from Unix and
find: some unique to GNU.
grep: This is GNU grep 2.0, the "fastest grep in the west" (we hope).
keytbls: Load and save keyboard mappings. Needed if you are not
keytbls: using the US keyboard map.
ksh: A public domain version of the Korn Shell with man-pages. (v. 4.8)
lpr: Print spooling system.
lpr:
lpr: NOTE: The lpd binary included in this package expects to find
lpr: TCP/IP running if TCP/IP support is found in the Linux kernel. If
lpr: you do not plan to install the TCP/IP package, then you will have
lpr: to recompile your kernel removing TCP/IP support. If you do not,
lpr: lpd will die immediately after it is started.
select: Selection (v. 1.5)
select: This adds two programs to /usr/bin : selection and
select: test-mouse. Start selection as a background process
select: (selection &) and the mouse may be used to cut and
select: paste text from the screen.
select: NOTE: This program may cause problems when you start
select: X on systems that do not use a serial mouse. If you get
select: an 'unable to open mouse device' error from X, this
select: program should be your prime suspect.
