How to Install The Ultimate FoxPro Reference:

1.	Copy TUFR2.EXE from the diskette to a directory of your choice. When you're done with these steps, you'll have 15 files whose filenames begin with "TUFR" - so you can use the default FoxPro directory if you like - you won't likely have any naming conflicts.

		TUFR_RG.DBF
		TUFR_RG.FPT
		TUFR_BI.DBF
		TUFR_BI.FPT
		TUFR_DE.DBF
		TUFR_DE.FPT
		TUFRHELP.DBF
		TUFRHELP.FPT
		TUFR_PRN.FRX
		TUFR_PRN.FRT

		TUFR2.PJX
		TUFR2.PJT
		TUFR2.SCX
		TUFR2.SCT
		TUFR2.SPR

2.	Run TUFR2.EXE. (Just type "TUFR" from your DOS prompt.) This will automatically decompress the enclosed files. The decompressed files will take up a little less than 2 MB (not including TUFR.EXE.)

3.	Rename TUFR2.EXE or delete it from the directory where the rest of the TUFR files are located. You'll see why in just a minute.

4.	Load FoxPro and from the Command Window, type:

		MODI PROJ TUFR2

You'll be asked if you want to move the project. Sure you do.

You are welcome to modify the TUFR2 screen set and report form as you desire - if you're going to run this under Windows, you'll probably want to.

Select <Build> and then choose the Build Option of your choice. If it was my choice, I'd select .APP, but, hey, it's a free country.

5.	Run TUFR2.SPR, TUFR2.APP, or TUFR2.EXE to get the TUFR interface for accessing the files. (See? If you don't delete TUFR2.EXE, you can't just "DO TUFR2" from within FoxPro.)

If you really can't stand the interface provided, you could access the files interactively - they are all standard DBFs. In fact, because they are set up as HELP databases, so you could even SET HELP TO TUFR_RG, for example.

6.	Read the TUFR Help (the Help pushbutton in the TUFR interface). Of special note - check out the "What's New in Edition Two." You can use TUFR without doing so, but won't you feel silly calling me up to ask a question just to be told to "Read the Friendly Help System..."

Coming Up Real Soon Now:

This is the Edition Two of The Ultimate FoxPro Reference. Look for Edition Two around August 15, 1993.

Your Serial Number:

Is a six digit number - for original copies, it's on the diskette label, for updates, it's on your mailing label. Write it down somewhere safe. Maybe where you have all your other software serial numbers written down... You can never tell when it will come in handy. If you contact me, I'll probably ask for the serial number.

Your Feedback is Important

I've already got a deskful of stuff that didn't quite make it in this Edition - some people just think you're kidding about deadlines - but I'm looking forward to hearing from you about what else you want/need in here. Voice: 414.332.9876, Fax: 414.963.4999, or CompuServe: 70651,2270 - please use these valuable numbers!

Have an Excellent year,

Whil Hentzen
